In my knowledge people do research based if they are willing to pursue PhD or become professors. Usually, if we want to go to the industry, coursework based or project based or co-op/internship is the right option. Its not that with research based, you wouldn't be able to work as an Engineer...

Oh!! It's so weird. People who apply for research are not able to get the seat! And here you are, even after applying to co-op you're getting research based! ;D I think there is funding available for Research. But I'm not aware of the details. You'll get to know this when you get the offer...

My status online changed to "Not Accepted" I've also received an email with letter where they have stated that they couldn't accept me. Maybe this is because I didn't contact a supervisor in advance.

Hahaha I had received the very same email when I had asked.

This is the email I received: "Good afternoon, After initial assessment of your file it is being placed on hold until you can upload the official 7th & 8th semester grade reports. Regards, Jennifer"

I've applied to MEng ECE. Even I didn't know they won't process my application without final marksheets!! I was surprised. So I uploaded as soon as I got the email. You also do it asap. Because if you haven't received an email, yours must still be in preliminary review. They're doing this now...

They must have forwarded your application to dept for assessment. Your profile will be assessed for a decision to be made. Yesterday I received an email asking me to upload 8th sem grades. Till then they've put my file on hold. I've uploaded that today. Which program have you applied to?
