*** September 2020 - Outland Spousal (Family Class) Sponsorship ***

I don't know the official answer but I would suggest it's better to be on the safe side. As I understand it if an application is returned it's like starting from the beginning. Based on that I would definitely do new pictures.

This is correct. Also, the documentation notes to put the barcode sheets from the various other forms immediately after the checklist. Do not staple anything or put them into plastic sleeves (per instructions).

Looking at the Inland family class google sheets - https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/u/0/d/1LxDFjvZn-XR9uZpGbPTORYKQf0BMquSXNw0RvmqvZNU/htmlview# It looks like even Sept 2020 Inland applications are getting biometric reminders and temp file #'s. This is great the progress CIC has made...

If you look at the Google sheets linked at the start of this thread you can see that applicants from March 2020 are getting their acknowledgement from CIC. There have been recent changes that indicate the Canadian government is speeding up the process so hopefully we'll all get notification...

Glad to know I'm not the only one. I'm trying to keep myself sane by not reading the Inland posts. Good to have a second set of eyes scanning the forums. :D

Good information, I didn't know that. A little surprising they're focusing on inland given the news that the Minister was going to fast track Family Class Sponsorships to re-unite families. Regardless hope this means the system overall is moving again.

You'll have time after your approval to officially "land" in Canada -usually up to the expiry one year from your medical. Worse case you can make a quick trip there to "land" then turn around and wrap up your affairs in FL.

Using the data on the google sheets (best we have) shows application have dropped since the pandemic took hold. Being cup half full type of person I'm going to believe that over applications are down and the increase in resource by CIC means they are still trying to hit their 12 month...

Not sure. You may want to post a new thread to ask this question in order to get more eyes on it to see what earlier applicants did while waiting.

Not sure what will happen during Covid-19. This link says missing documents won't cause the application to be closed or refused due to Covid: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/coronavirus-covid19/immigration-applicants.html#processing However you situation is...

Not sure what you're trying to convince but you cross customs when you enter Canada then the rest of the travel is domestic. So if Montreal is your first stop then you cross customs there (pickup your luggage and re-check after you cross customs).

Thanks for the info. Good to know. We're in the US as well. I'm going to believe with the file staying in Canada that will minimize delays versus sending it out of country :)

Glad you started the clock to countdown! I know it's going to be a long wait but I still can't avoid checking the spreadsheet and this forum everyday. LOL. You may want to post in an early timeline forum to get the answer on the visa office from someone that had theirs transferred already.

Government of Canada website says it's 12 months but that's the same number as before Covid slowed things down. At this point I would say it's a minimum 12 months unless the government fast track applications or add more staff.
