Status on removal of Conditional PR

Just to be clear: it counts towards the residency requirement for maintaining PR, but does not count towards time spent physically present in Canada towards citizenship. These two different things often get confused by being talked about using the same language, and it seems useful to be very...

FEBRUARY 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

Congratulations! :) In a few weeks, we should be right behind you, either at Peace Arch or in Victoria :D

    US outland applicants' thread :)

In the past, I have had success with telling CIC that it would take me longer to acquire what they were asking for. I made sure to respond as soon as possible, to explain the situation, and to indicate that I would send the requested documents as soon as possible, and that I understood that the...

MARCH 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

It's something the website has said for years and years, and it has very much not been true for years and years. Think of it like the processing times: 80% of updates are posted by a Tuesday ;) I have seen mine update, as most others here have, on Fridays and Saturdays and Thursdays and...

    Processing time changed

For what it's worth, in sponsoring my American spouse, I included a lot of proof of financial interdependence, etc., but very little in the form of the kind of relationship proof that people here worry about the most. I included no pictures of us together. I did include proof that we had...

    Processing times change the game

Unfortunately, those times are not guarantees, nor are they really service standards, but simply look at how much time it took in the past time period to process 80% of applications. Your case will be handled according to the complexity of its processing, and other cases being handled by the...

    Marriage deterioriated after landing

To clarify: infidelity is not illegal, but may be grounds for divorce.

    Processing times change the game

Note that the original poster of the question noted 14 months, not 2 months, and February of 2015, not of 2016. Which seems quite shocking for an American going through Ottawa outland.

    "Decision Made"

    Nope XD

    "Decision Made"

Other people are seeing the same thing. At least in my case, it did mean that a decision had been made. If the summary says "Decision Made", that appears to mean that a decision has been made, even if the other line has not appeared in the summary. It seems that the next thing you should...

MARCH 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

Ergh. I just said that I was calling to confirm the status eCas was showing because it said "Decision Made" and that seemed like an error to me. They insisted it must just be SA, but I said I knew when that had occurred, and I just needed them to confirm the status of the Principal Applicant's...

    US outland applicants' thread :)

The opaqueness and seriousness of the whole process really engenders that kind of worry. Don't beat yourself up!

MARCH 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

Thank you and congratulations! :D If you're outside Canada, you can call 613.944.4000 and follow the prompts for immigration, which will transfer you to CIC. We only had about a 15 minute wait on the phone, too. :) :) :)

MARCH 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

Thank you. I still assume it was a fluke of some kind, but it would be wonderful to see this kind of processing speed become the norm, or at least closer to it.

MARCH 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

I just did. It was apparently approved even more quickly than I thought. COPR was mailed on Thursday, April 28th, two days after file transfer to Ottawa VO. This is so unreal that I think the speculation that it's due to training a lot of new officers is the only plausible application. The...

    US outland applicants' thread :)

This has a non-trivial overhead in delay and fees, though. A good two-country bank solution should involve neither, and that's why long-term it's the only really tenable solution.

MARCH 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

Ottawa. Me sponsoring my American spouse. But I'm fairly convinced the DM is an error. Still, I wanted to record it on the spreadsheet since I brought it up in one thread and it's been brought up in others. eCas started showing "Decision Made" as the status of the PA's application, but the...

Ecas says Decision made but when clicking on status I don't see any more details

I do think it must be an error. The link is Decision Made, but the actual status information doesn't show anything additional. I know they're processing Americans very quickly, and my spouse is an American, but a week from SA would be shocking. Even considering that we've been together for...

Ecas says Decision made but when clicking on status I don't see any more details

I have to hope that's incorrect and that errors sometimes occur. The Principal Applicant's side of my application just switched to saying "Decision Made" and we're a week from SA, with no communication at all from CIC since file transfer. :-\
