lol it's 11$/hr now. Cities like Toronto , Vancouver etc you just get minimum. Gas stations , restaurants like subway mcd, kfc they just pay minimum but in Alberta they pay little more than other provinces.

well you can get any job depend on your hard work and well depend on your job if you are a truck driver , mechanic , doctor , engineer other skilled job then yes you can survive but if you are just getting 10-12$ per hour then it becomes hard. It's not bargain but depend on area and conditions...

not sure with your case but all of my friends got their nomination before their work permit expiry date even processing time was 18-24 month but they got it in 8-9 months. What I heard was that person whose wp is expiring is on their priority list
