I see. Still, $1k is a cheap price to pay for peace of mind i'd say.

Thats quite a bit more than what CIC requires. Does that include paying to an agent of some sort?

Just received the GCMS notes this morning. Everything seems to have been passed. Last update was June 2017 I see an application assignment due date of January 2018. so there, seems this year's quota is done and finished. Wouldn't hold my breath for any PPR's for the next 3 months.

Why not have the dependant apply if she is qualified on her own merit. Worst case scenario, she is not approved in family class but has her own application in process. Best case scenario, she gets approved under family class and can then withdraw the second application at any time. At most, you...

Expect another Medical and PCC request as medicals are only valid for a year and PCC for 6 months in most cases. I believe those have to be valid when final decision is made. The average BG check timeline is 3-4 months but can be longer depending on the applicant history, countries visited, etc...

Medical passed in first week of April in my case. I contacted the MP and was given the same information "everything approved. waiting for final review". MP's cannot really speed up a file, it'll be done when its done. I think that the process now is that someone has to look at the file and...

It might help getting in touch with your federal MP. They can normally get more information than what the call center may tell you or what e-cas shows. But only the gcms notes can really tell you what is happening with your file.

I wonder if this 8 month application was processed in Ottawa instead of overseas. People in ottawa seem to have their heads on straight when it comes to processing applications, overseas offices you are at the mercy of the incompetent staff they hire But im having a really hard time beleiving...

Are you sure the parents arent here on a super visa? It seems very very unlikely that parents sponsorship would get approved and PR processed and visa issued in 6 months. Heck, spousal applications, which btw are higher priority than family class, can take longer than 6 months on average.

Nobody knows.... CIC wont tell anyone why. The requirements for a sponsor have been tightened up but the overall process/ checks etc are likely still the same. I can only speculate that its all political: trying to please the bigger crowd of potential/ future family class sponsors vs a smaller...

I'm guessing around the 3-4 months since meds were done in Feb 2017 and PPR was sent out in June.

Processing order may have been changed too i suppose. E.g. i keep hearing that security checks start after medicals have been cleared. Seems this may be the old process that adds to the overall timeline. Seems in my case, security checks could have started way before medical results were...

Yeah, i dont know. they've had all the PCC's since April but perhaps nobody has looked at them yet? Security is most likely CSIS checks and what not but i have a hunch that might be complete too just going by the stuff they omitted from the notes (mostly has to do with security). anyways...

in the notes, it says ASSESSMENTS Eligibility: Passed Security: HIRV: Criminality: In Progress Org Crime: Medical: Passed Misrepresentation: Other Reqs: Final: Further down it goes into more details for eligibility assessment and has dates. I'm also hopeful the next step is to get PPR but...

I think part of the delay is that forms, rules etc change over time. For e.g. Ive had to refill the same forms (schedule A, IMM0008 etc) multiple times because they were updated since i originally filled them out Wouldn't expect the 2016/ 2017 applicants to have to do that but it adds more time...

I'm a June 2011 applicant I just received my GCMS notes. They state: Eligibility Passed Medical Passed Criminality - in progress Security- Blank I ordered the notes under privacy act and seems they have removed everything related to the security check and cited section 26 of privacy act but...

I went through the same. Got a standard letter from delhi requesting these forms (which i had already provided) along with some other things such as RPRF, non accompanying dependant form, travel history and such. Turns out, there's a catch: IMM0008 form has been updated for 2016 with some...

Unfortunately, as you said and all of us know, there is no written in stone timelines when it comes to processing files by CIC. I dont know much about secondary review to give you more information than what you already know. It could very well be due to CIC being gutted of staff over the last...

Have you tried talking to your MP about this? My MP has been tremendously helpful and can usually get more information than is available on the web. I know someone with a complicated case whose file moved everytime the MP's office enquired on the status. Good Luck
