i have read somewhere on this site that the employment check they do is before medical. so i think you should wait till medical.

i too have the same question. but my nomination has no restrictions so i do not whether they only call the applications that are employer driven stream based or they can call anyone's employer.

mine also shows provided since ages. no clue when they would say received.

Where are you getting this information? my understanding was that we need to provide a copy of nomination certificate(whether its expired or not) along with copy of AOR email

I am in same situation i have submitted some documents as well they just saying provided even though they passed the deadline. never changed to received. :o

I am June 2016 applicant, on my cic account the background check needed is in process for almost a month now. what does that suppose to mean?

My online account shows "a background check is needed= in progress". it is something they always do ? they have not even requested for medical yet.

i have already sent them the certified translated copy they just need a copy of original. i have the option to upload this document on my cic account as well. i will do it both ways just to be over safe :P

I called CIC. she said if the email says certified copy of original Birth certificate then notarized it. if it does not say any thing then just send a copy. but my original birth certificate is in Punjabi. In case i have to send it notarized can it be done in Canada or it has to go back to India...
