    I think if you want everything to go smoothly for you, do it in Canada. If you want it to go smoothly for him and possibly cause you stress, headache and money later on, let him do it there.

    Yes, but ODSP is a social assistance, and you can be on ODSP and sponsor a spouse. They also will not refuse you if you use food banks or live in geared to income housing. OSAP is also not considered Social assistance

    hey guys, I have a question...... I saw there is a $50 fee for PR card.... when does this fee have to be paid? Before or after he gets here? I thought they dont even set up to send that out until he gets to Canada?

    No, not that I've ever heard of... Are you legally married? Or common law/conjugal? Hmm... let's see if some more experienced ppl on here have more info. I havent heard of anyone ever having to actually do a paternity test.

    You are right! Sometimes the strangest ones get thru! Shes never done an undertaking before. It was one of her ex husbands that was deported from USA and she actually never saw him again after the honeymoon! He stayed in Jamaica. She didnt file for him and then divorced him about 6/7 months...
