Dear Vancouverain,

I am curious to know the date that your lawyer received the acknowledgement letter from POS. Would you happen to know?

Hi Shorty2000

Being married before does not make you inadmissible, however if your friend was required to support her spouse on a previous sponsorship that she is still obligated to in Canada, then yes that is a red flag. Also being married more than once is also not inadmissible, however if these marital unions were within a short space of time then they may question the validity of the present union, they could also assume that she is doing a business wedding. Both ages are not reasons for concern. Another possible red flag maybe her economic standing, how will she support this person and her 5 children, even though this maybe an issue, once she meets the financial requirements this will not make her inadmissible, her husband does not have to be employed to be sponsored. However his track record that he is required to fill out on his application will say a lot about how he spent his years from 18 until present. Immigration is more flexible with spousal sponsorship and certain things that are inadmissible for Temporary Resident Visas are not for Spousal Sponsorship. His deportation in the United States may or may not cause a problem however if he has a criminal record and he is required to provide a FBI clearance then this maybe a red flag if he has an outstanding warrant, or the nature of his crimes were bad, especially if he has committed a federal crime this maybe an issue. Deportation I believe falls under federal law in the United States. Even so there is some form of reprieve under Canadian immigration law that allows a convicted person to be sponsored, I do not know much about this and you may require to read more about it. So my suggestion to your friend would be to see an immigration consultant to weigh her options wisely. However immigration is so strange its the most unusual cases that get through and not the standard procedure cases.

You are right! Sometimes the strangest ones get thru! Shes never done an undertaking before. It was one of her ex husbands that was deported from USA and she actually never saw him again after the honeymoon! He stayed in Jamaica. She didnt file for him and then divorced him about 6/7 months later. I just think she may have more trouble than she thinks. She thinks everything will go smoothly and Im not too sure about that, lol

Hi Solkaman, we received it on the 10th of March. Question, where in Canada are you? And how many days exactly after being transferred to POS, did your friend received a response for PPR? And did they get their passport back as yet?

Vancouverain, I am in Toronto. So we both received letter from POS same day.

My friend got a letter from POS in January and PPR in February. 3-4 weeks later. I spoke to her last week and they still had not submitted their passport after 1 month. They were going to do that shortly...

what is the best way to organized my papers i have attach paper also?
how i put whatsapp and phone calls evidence together it is a lot?

Hi Solkaman

Thanks for the reply Toronto is 5 hours away from me, we are in Vancouver, BC. And yes, its exciting to see what happens since our files were transferred at the same time. Your friend is taking sometime to send in their passport, do they know that immigration is time sensitive and once they are in a mode of work it is best to go with the flow? Where about in Jamaica is your husband from?

I got a question, that I hope someone can answer for me. After reading forum posts, I see that some Kingston embassy applications have been sent to be worked on at the POS embassy, due to back log. My husband had his passport requested by Kingston this past week has you may have seen in earlier posts I made. My question is... In cases where the application went to POS was the passport requested before it was sent there? I am trying to get s feel, if there is a chase our application may go there too, or if they asked for the passport to go to the Kingston embassy will they complete the paperwork there?

Thanks in advance for your help, I have found this forum to be ever so helpful! May all of you have a blessed Easter weekend and my prayers are with you and your families, to bless s speedy and trouble free approval! Keeping positive can be a daunting task during this process. I am blessed to have a lot of family support, however we need to remember that every day that goes by will bring us closer to finishing this process! Stay up and keep looking forward! Blessings!

I'm not an expert, but from reading other people's posts on here it looks like once the passport has been requested then that is pretty much the last step in this process. I don't believe they would send your package to POS if the passport has already been requested by Kingston :) Sounds like your wait is almost over!!

Happy Easter!!

Today isnt a good day for me. Please tell me Im not the only one that goes thru this. Im just so tired of doing this stupid process. I just feel like they take their sweet ass time. They dont care what we go thru. Im tired of taking care of these kids alone. My 6 month old has had 2 kidney surgeries already and still our amazing Government who says they are so "family-friendly" isnt so friendly to have my husband here. I know its a process and I know it takes time but its so frustrating.

I'm sorry you are hang such a rough time. I know and feel what you are going through! I am raising our daughter on my own and it is tough not having my husband around to help. It's taking a toll on me and my family. i cannot keep traveling back and forth to see him, it's just too expensive. CIC seems to be taking their time, but not realizing that they are costing us time away from our loved ones and a lot of financial burden. I pray everyday that we will be together very soon and I will say a special preyer for you too shortyp2000! Just stay strong and remember, everyday that goes by is a day closer to you being with your loved one! I hope you are with ur spouse soon! stay positive and stay blessed!

Thank you! sometimes we just need to know that we are all going thru it together right! Holidays away from hubby are always hard.... gonna try to keep busy tomorrow :) I'll say a prayer for you too!

Holidays are tough for sure! I keep thinking about how we were having the rehearsal dinner for wedding on Easter weekend last year. I am glad to have the support from others here thar are going thru the same thing! Keeping busy helps, I find now that we are closer it has gotten even harder, seems strange to me!

Absolutely, it is way harder now, because now I know its going to happen. Whether its sooner or later, its still going to happen. On any day, at any time. Just when when when, lol.
