Thanks! As for 'medical results have been received', nope. It didn't say anything about that. Just that it's 'in process'.

Yay! E-CAS now shows a change in my status! My application has now been 'in process' since November 11th!

    Thread for outland Buffalo applicants!

We've went and sent out for CAIPS/GCMS notes today so we can have more detailed info on my progress in the queue, like medicals received, security checks done, anything amiss, etc.... We chose to follow the link to ATIP directly instead of going to one of those places that do that for you and...

I am curious.... After that date, how will this affect the ability of recently landed immigrants to get their SIN number, as according to this website, I would need both the COPR, and the counterfoil as proof to apply for a SIN number . http://www.servicecanada.gc.ca/eng/sin/apply/proof.shtml...

Family Class Sponsorship -- Enforcing the Sponsorship Agreement

....and there's not a darn thing wrong with freedom of speech, either. :) With that being said however, I can't really say what I would do if I was faced with that kind of situation. Hopefully, I would've found a job already so that I could land on my own feet. That would be the ideal...

Family Class Sponsorship -- Enforcing the Sponsorship Agreement

Maybe he made up his mind already? Maybe the cynics gave him a bad time about his issue and he ran off? Or, maybe those cynics were really calling a spade a bleeping shovel? Who knows? I try to give people the benefit of the doubt, but if he's truly a bad actor, and not just down on his luck...

    Spouse Sponsorship

I can't speak as an ultimate authority on this matter, but from what I understand, you're in on a temporary student permit. From what I can understand on the CIC website, I don't believe you can bring in your spouse of a temporary work permit, and that you would actually have to be a permanent...

We've only had a small wedding ourselves, but we had a minister, and a church to do the ceremony. Some of her family was there, along with our closest friends. It was nice, intimate moment which was what we wanted. We didn't want anything to do with some big, gaudy, ridiculous affair...

Family Class Sponsorship -- Enforcing the Sponsorship Agreement

Wow! After reading all the comments in this section, and at the risk of likely offending some people on this board, I feel compelled to take a stand in regards to this subject. As far as I'm concerned, the OP can either get a job, (preferably) go on welfare, (if there's really no other choice)...

I don't understand it, either. Frankly, I'm still at a loss to this very day. Maybe it's the way I wear my hat? Or maybe it could be because I'm just not a native to this area as I've moved from Metro Detroit to Sault Ste. Marie back a few summers ago, and that I have no family in this area, and...

    Thread for outland Buffalo applicants!

Yeah. For a while after that incident, I was flagged so that every time I came to visit her, I would pop up on their computer, and I'd get a yellow paper winning me a free trip into the building to have a discussion on why I'm in Canada and all that stuff. Then about ten to fifteen minutes...

    Thread for outland Buffalo applicants!

Indeed. I just didn't have the foresight to make a copy of the PR application at that time. Now I wish I did, but at least I know that they do have it, and they gave me a visa file number in an email with a standard boilerplate message stating that they'll get it done when they get it done, and...

    Thread for outland Buffalo applicants!

I had to laugh while reading that question as I've talked with them numerous times during the course of dating my wife. Some of which they've pulled us aside to talk to me, and other times I've pulled ourselves in to talk to them. Now, this was at the time where I was visiting her 2-3 days per...

    Thread for outland Buffalo applicants!

Okay. I wasn't aware of that as an option. Why would we do that? No one we've talked to ever mentioned that as an idea. :) All we can do is just smile and go on. Some people like to huff and puff, but unless they have anything on you, that won't do anything to you. Not unless they're really...

That's what we have here in the Soo; a Taco Bell with a KFC put together. I find the KFC part of it better than on my side. I didn't know they served chili cheese fries, but I like their poutine, and I do enjoy their chicken bowls very much. As for their tacos however, wrong! Just wrong! :o

Right, and that's my main concern as well. I've just applied to extend mine yesterday. But what frustrates me the most is how I can't seem to really get a straight answer out of people. (I know. Join the club. :) ) Also, while filling out the immigration paperwork, we've went to the immigration...

    Thread for outland Buffalo applicants!

I'm afraid you might be. As for myself, I've been told three different stories in regards to how long I can stay as a visitor before I got married. One story was 6 months minus a day, implying that the clock resets when you reenter. Meanwhile, I was also told not to stay longer than three days...

Can't argue with that. ;) I haven't had too many problems with the CBSA guys at the Sault Ste. Marie post, but the Sarnia post? Holy cow can they be mean! I'd recommend getting a NEXUS card to cross there just to save a lot of grief! I think I meant to say 'dual intent' here. My bad. :o...

    Thread for outland Buffalo applicants!

Yeah, it all ultimately depends on who you get, but a 12 month visitor record is certainly not unheard of in this situation. I'd imagine that showing them the receipt for the immigration fees basically 'seals the deal' as far as implied status goes, because if you can prove you've paid $1040 to...

    Thread for outland Buffalo applicants!

From my experience, once my wife and I declared to the border agents that we were married, and showed them proof that we were indeed married, that we were filling out the immigration paperwork, and had shown them proof that we paid for the immigration fees, they gave me a 12 month visitor...
