Thanks frasiercrane. I think you get the PCC in 3-4 hours when your passport address and permanent address are the same. Any idea about the timelines when these addresses are different but of the same city ?

The authorities does not send any acknowledgement mail for receiving the application. You will have to wait at least a couple of months before any kind of update.
