Thanks Dear ! First, multiple visa has no six months limitation. Second, when one enters into Canada at the airport he/she will be issued a permit to stay at Canada that permit is renewable even as a visitor. So you can stay more than six months. Third, if you apply for PR and once you get a PER in Canada, you can apply for a work permit because you are eligible to stay until your PR final decision is made. :P :P :P

To the best of my knowledge any visitor visa is max 6 months stay. In case of multiple entry you are stamped at the port of entry for max six months. No doubt you can ask for extension but in extraordinary circumstances only... Work permit can only be granted after getting job... You cannot claim that you have entered in canada for one year with TRV......

This is illegal to send passport with someone out of the country. Not recommended.

Yep thats what i heard, so does that mean the only option is to choose the visa office as singapore for me?

It may be for few cases, but if caught in current resident country without passport then .... (worst case scenario)
I would suggest ask your embassy if it is possible, may be they assist you in sending the passport to your birth country through proper channel.

[size=9pt] People have successfully done that with their family - as shared in the posts. I have read it more than once of such successful cases, but it needs doing when emergency situation calls for it. One case was from India, and I don't recall the other one's country of origin.

Extreme situations call for extreme measures!!! 8) Plus when I was in the US for several years never needed my passport for anything local there - not even for domestic flights. So it was merely kept in my bag LOL

I am now Really Worried looking at the Speed CIC is Processing the Apps coz My App Reached on June 5th and my DD will expire on 8th Nov'14 (6 Months) as they are still processing 15th May Apps and i think by the time they start processing 5th June Apps our DD might have been expired.

@Vijaya

No need to lose sleep on this. CIC speed has picked up and also no. of applications will have slowed down after may 2014. So relax. You will in all likelihood get a revert by early Sept 2014.

Sorry, I dont know your case history, I mean why you want to choose NVDO when you are currently in Singapore?

There is some another grp created for FSW 2013 ppl and as per then SG VO is dam slow and for last 1.5 yrs they havent processed any application and all are really frustrated, so people over there suggesting not to go with SG VO office, thats why i wanted to go with ND VO office.

http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/fsw-2013-singapore-visa-office-lets-connect-here-t161055.1170.html

Comments like: It'll be an absolute Sin to chose SG Visa Office, you should definitely select NDVO.
SGVO is just that,.... 'Empty Promise' ...

Since u are on SG, u have two option. Ofcourse choose New Delhi as ur Visa office since this VO is thousand times faster than Singapore.....
Dont do blunder choosing SG

Tracking your past posts found that you are worried about the processing time.

What I researched that Ashif has applied from Bangladesh (Bangladesh resident) and their visa processing office is Singapore and for your case you are applying from Singapore ( Singapore resident), it will be easy for them to process your application because your data should be easily available to them. This is what my understanding is as my Visa office is also Singapore.

May be this is how I have satisfied myself at least. :P

I am really confused now what to do and which option to go with? If i choose singapore i will be stuck waiting for the processing to start and if i choose New Delhi, then i might stuck there in India and might not be able to come back without passport and that can impact my job here...please suggest which option i should go with?

[size=9pt] Hi Aman / Others, US tourist visa is issued for 10 years - isn't that a kind of visitor visa? Please guide if I may be incorrect. :)

Validity is different from period of stay..

You can not stay in the USA for more than 6 months on a tourist visa even when you have a 10 year visit visa/travel document except you've got an exceptional situation/case.

It is a visitor visa. Multiple Entry means that one can enter multiple times within 10 years, with the maximum stay of 6 months only

Bro if you are from India in worst case scenario if the date crosses the mark it doesn't get rejected and banks like HDFC and others in same category intimate you for the demand and by paying nominal fee the draft date is Renewed and payment is made! :D
