    Postponed hearings timelines

Received hearing date November 19 (PM). Applied November 14. Elections are October 21st, kinda worried about the conservatives, can they impose funding cuts on IRB? Then less members; then more claimants in limbo? Then more people staying idle and using Canada's systems and taxes, which the...

For anyone that didn't cross illegally from the US. Take your I-94 form which can be downloaded online from homeland security. Have your entries, and exits i.e I-94 with you, a smile, and it shouldn't be an issue. They give 10 years multiple entries. But by then hopefully you are a citizen.

Summary of my refugee hearing experience (Positive Decision)

"My lawyer refused to take any more delays, and she fought to have my hearing scheduled for the same month (on a later date in July) rather than have it postponed by three months, as my case was sensitive." How did your lawyer overpower the IRB? Whom did she contact? I have had the same exact...

    New hearing dates and decision!!

Just a computer algorithm making it easy for the task force to schedule claimants. It's why some are scheduled before others. Unfair, but efficient. I highly doubt there will be legacy claims for mid 2018 and upward claimants.

    New hearing dates and decision!!

They are prioritizing families, take into consideration interpreter availability, and member familiarity. If you meet all 3, NOVA system usually brings your files up, and you get a hearing. However for short hearing, or file review it works like a queue.

    Postponed hearings timelines

Yeah I get it Canuck, the thing is some claimants are not genuine and are happy to drive an Uber for 3 years make a little money and head home if declined. I'm genuine, and I have places to be, it's frustrating but that's the reality. Let's hope it all works out, thank you for making me patient haha

    Postponed hearings timelines

Nice, you will also be able to see what the task force thought of your file in your initial screening by a member, there's credibility, identity, failure to claim, state protection internal flight etc etc if identity and credibility are an issue don't worry, almost every member does this, if...

    Postponed hearings timelines

Does anyone have an idea about the NOVA system the IRB uses to schedule people? I hear it's not by turn but rather preferences as in family size, and reasons for claim, as well as member availability/ familiarity with country. If so the system is no longer fair like this I feel

    Postponed hearings timelines

Nobody can tell you, your chances it depends on your case. Short hearing is just to clear a few things up that the member wants to ask.

    Postponed hearings timelines

ATIP will likely just show some notes and his BOC, not really give a timeline or scheduling time, 30 months! Wow could be a citizen by now, ridiculous

Maybe Send a hand written letter to Minister Hussein's office? Who knows might empathize with you, anything honestly. Does anyone know of any other way to plead to IRB? Other than sending letters to registrar? Over the phone they really don't offer any help, most of the time not even answer
