I've read that before, too, but I've heard they are strict about it and it's usually in cases where like, they're issuing your COPR in July and your medical expires at the end of July, so they extend it so that your time to land isn't a crazy short window. Whereas my situation, I would be very...
It's okay if you aren't able to connect your account. I know they send out the email stating you have to link in 7 days or it will delay your application or whatever, but I've read dozens of posts on this forum stating that's false. You can link any time, and if not, you will just receive all...
Hey guys,
I originally got a medical done on 9/19/16, back when medicals were upfront, and originally sent in my application in January of 2017. Long story short, it was returned a few times, and my application ultimately was sent in 8/2/2017 with AOR received on 9/22/17.
When I sent it in on...
It's through the MyCIC profile. For me, the requests automatically showed up as soon as I linked. It shows up as a message in your account (and you also have to click "view this application" to view where to upload them) and any time you get a message in your account, you get an email...
:) You got it. Just wanted to make sure you were aware, especially if you are anticipating a somewhat anxious border crossing, that other detail was taken care of!
You will notice canuck_in_uk has over 12,000 posts on this forum. There are some very experienced people on this forum who spend their time keeping up to date on these processes and advising others of their expertise that has been gained from hours and hours of research and reading. Canuck_in_uk...
Do you have any family or friends in Canada who you could parcel the photos to, then when received, they could send via Canada Post for you? (I'm not sure if the Robert Speck address would work, it's very possible that it would be fine, but I'm not sure so don't want to advise one way or another!)
No, in fact, it's the norm NOT to live together if you are applying outland (which, for a US applicant, is ideal). You would only need to live together if you were applying common law, but if you are getting legally married, that isn't an issue.
For anyone with August/September AORs who has had difficulty linking their application, I think I figured out the new "trick".
When researching linking issues on this forum, the majority of advice tells you to enter only a space for city of birth and otherwise leave it blank, and...
I was not able to link mine for three days and I just successfully linked it today. :) This is what worked for me:
- Choose the "family name and application number" option
- Leave the birth city and birth country BLANK
- Enter in all passport information
- For number of applicants/family...
AOR just means that your application contains everything they need to process it and they will begin to process it. Sponsor approval is a separate email/notification which typically comes about a week or two after you receive AOR.
Does anyone have any tips on linking your application now that they have disabled the ability to put a blank/space for the city of birth? Unfortunately, all the strategies I'm able to locate on this forum involve leaving the city of birth blank, and they seem to have disabled that option...
The email asking you to link your account is indeed your AOR1. Congrats! :)
The sponsorship approval is the next step. You can expect to hear about that within the next couple of weeks.
The spreadsheets are showing applicants from the 10th & 11th receiving their AORs yesterday, if that helps anyone. For you 17th people, you probably have about another week to wait.
