Final Landing in Toronto with layover in Vancouver - Confused about Immigration

I don't know about luggage, but the immigration formalities will definitely be in Vancouver, that's the POE. In a Canadian Orientation Abroad meeting they specifically stated that if you're flying to a Canadian city with a connection in Toronto, your landing will be in Toronto. I don't see why...

    Ghost Update?

Well, as GoHaPPyCaN already said, it doesn't really mean PPR, but it means that some work is being done on your application. And if all your documents are okay (as is the case with the majority of applicants), then that means it's a step towards PPR, so it's a good thing. You can see in my...

    Question regarding GCMS notes

No need to send the hard copy, just scan and email it.

Will they extend PR visa ?

I hope other members will correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you PR visa is no longer valid. They had to re-open your case when you reported change in circumstances (marriage), and you'll get a new PPR and a new visa once they finalize your application.

Review of Eligibility - processing time

Don't worry, we all have a lot of questions, that's what this forum is for :) Well, not to disappoint you, but - it probably does mean that nothing is happening) My application was absolutely stagnant the first four months after AOR, and from what I've read, that's the case for most applicants...

    B4 form details

From what I've read, you can just write 'clothes', 'household appliances', etc. You have to specify each piece of expensive tech you might be bringing with you, like a laptop, with its serial number. But other than that - no need to be specific. Also, remember to specify any jewelry you might be...

    question after ITA

I'd say it's more like 5-7 months now. There are a few rare cases that will get processed in 2-3 months, but for the majority it will take 5 months minimum.

    Background check in progress

Does BG go back and forth between statuses for Inlands, too? I thought it mostly happens to Outlands when their application is being sent to their LVO. And anyway, there are cases where BG just goes in progress, and that's it, and even cases where BG never goes in progress, or does so just a...

AOR in November 2015 - Let's get together

Yeah, I guess you're right. Oh, actually, I've found a great tool a couple days ago. Well, maybe everybody already knows about it, since it was right on the surface of the Web, first page of Google search results, but still, just in case: http://navut.com/finder/#/metro It's not for finding a...

Review of Eligibility - processing time

The review of eligibility will stay in progress til the very end, even after you get your PPR. It will only be 'completed' once they stamp your passport. Background check might take some time to begin. I'd say, get ready for 3-4 months (from AOR) of nothing moving at all, unless you'll be one of...

Need to know Visa processing office

The thing is, it could be Ottawa, too. The only way to know for sure is if you order your GCMS notes, or maybe via calling the IRCC (not sure about the second option though). And your VO could also change. In my case, my VO was Ottawa, but when they got to the BG check stage, I'm pretty sure it...

    Very Bad news

The requirement of FSW and CEC is to have the work experience, not the job. Since you already have the experience, and if being laid-off doesn't bring your funds below the required level for your family, then you're okay. People with LMIA are different because usually having the job (and the...

AOR in November 2015 - Let's get together

darky07, congratulations on successfully completing the journey to PPR! So wait, is the COPR supposed to stay stapled to your passport? Isn't it, like, a huge piece of paper? What if you go travelling to other countries, and have to submit the passport for a visa - do you submit it together with...

AOR in November 2015 - Let's get together

Yes, it is absolutely possible. You ordered your notes on April 3, they were probably generated somewhere around April 5-7 (you can check the accurate date in the notes), and then there was an update on April 19 that you won't see unless you order another set of notes. My personal opinion -...

AOR in November 2015 - Let's get together

Far in advance? I kinda thought I'm too late)) Contacted IOM yesterday about the tickets for July, they said there are no options already, because it's high season. I really wanted to book a ticket through them, they have good flights and additional luggage allowance. You mean, if you buy after...

Ah, I've decided to switch to Toronto. The situation in Alberta was not very good even before the wildfires, so I think I better leave Calgary for the future. I've been scouting a bit, to get a feel of the market, but nothing definite yet, and I don't yet know Toronto as well as I've come to...

    Skills Employment Statistics

You're looking for employment statistics for the country, right? I believe the Job Bank, where we all need to register to proceed with our PR application, is actually the resource you're looking for. Also, there should be industry-specific annual reports created maybe by the relevant regulating...

    Settlement in Caada

Have you checked out the official IRCC CRS calculator? http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asp I definitely think that going the PR -> studies route is the better option, but checking your CRS score will help you understand how long the PR process might take.
