    Spousal open work permit

applied for sowp on 9th Jan, and waiting for past 14 weeks. No response. tbh, no one knows how long it takes. the processing time on website for wp includes all kinds of work permits. sowp seems to be of least priority. there are ppl who have been waiting for 15-16 weeks to hear back from cic...

January SOWP applicants. Please update your status

Well, we have heard of sowp applicants from 5th, 9th, 13th of Jan who have already received medical/PPR, so its not a question of if they haven't started processing Jan applications yet.

Spousal Open Work Permit (SOWP) 2016-2017. - Please Your timelines

Anyone has any ideas on what to do here, other than wait? While there can be delays and it can take more time than what the processing times mention (10 weeks), getting NO information for 14-15 weeks seems wrong. Emailing Delhi office seems to do no good.

Can I apply for work permit if my spousal application is refused

Reason for refusal? Unless its something like a criminal history, or health issues that 'can be burden to Canadian taxpayer', your spousal permit refusal should not impact work permit application.

    SOWP January/February 2017 applicants

Don't want to be a dampener here, but the order in which cic is processing applications give me no hope that its 'our turn next'. Someone who applied on Dec-21 got medical request yest, while a person who applied on Jan 9 got it on Mar 13. Then there was the Jan 5 applicant go out cic email last...

Checking work permit application status via phone

If you want to speak to a cust care person, try early in the morning, after 8am EST. They can give you status of an application only if the application was made in Canada and is processed in Canada. Otherwise they don't have permission to disclose application details.

    Spouse Open Work permit

It was 11 weeks when I checked on Friday. Either ways, its been getting longer. Was 9 weeks when I applied in early Jan. And again, 11 weeks have passed for me and the application hasn't moved at all. So these processing timelines has actually stopped making sense to me.

Spousal Open Work Permit (SOWP) 2016-2017. - Please Your timelines

If you're in Canada, you can submit it via https://atip-aiprp.apps.gc.ca/atip/welcome.do?lang=en , need to get consent letter from spouse. Its cheaper, $5, and seems faster than going through private firms, who are more suited if you are out of canada and don't have anyone to make the...

Spouse Open Work Permit - Online Application - Approved (Timeline)

I sent couple of documents through webform (https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/case-cas-eng.aspx) and I got confirmation email saying it has been received. Help centre person I talked on phone confirmed it has been added to my file, but is up to the discretion of the officer to...

Did you submit specifically to Delhi office? https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/case-cas-eng.aspx?mission=new%20delhi From what the call centre person told me, the general web form submission will also be directed to the visa office based on our application num.

Spouse Open Work Permit - Online Application - Approved (Timeline)

My understanding is, if he has a job, that should be sufficient. Submit his job offer letter, and atleast three recent pay stubs. You need not submit other financial proof, like a big sum in bank account. That's mostly for people on study permit.

Medical exam was passed but OWP refused just now

They make the decision only once the application is complete, and for application to be complete, medical report should also be submitted. Before starting new application, email them for reconsideration with some explanation notes. Somewhere in the forum itself I read of a case where they...

With regards the fee for applying extension of PGWP

Try calling them early, like around 8am EST. (you also get to speak to someone who is in a good mood and answer you instead of sending you cic links) Else it gets too busy and they wont answer. You have 90 days after graduating to apply for pgwp, which should be more than enough time to renew...

With regards the fee for applying extension of PGWP

Probably because this is a vague topic for most people here. Haven't you tried talking to cust.care people? http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/contacts/call.asp Do you already have pgwp? If not, I'd say apply for new passport first. you can renew your passport one year before its expiry. I recall my...

Not for the cities you mentioned. But U.S will need a visa even if you don't plan to leave the airport.
