Checking work permit application status via phone

Hello,

Has anyone tried to call CIC recently to check the application status of the work permit? I have tried sooooo many times but couldn't get through- "we are experiencing a large volume of call" - and then hung up. If you had success, could you please share your experience?

I submitted my application on Dec. 5, 2016... it has been almost 4 months... the normal processing time on their website means nothing...

If you want to speak to a cust care person, try early in the morning, after 8am EST. They can give you status of an application only if the application was made in Canada and is processed in Canada. Otherwise they don't have permission to disclose application details.
