Are you referring to taking a long time for going from "not started" to "in progress" or the actual "in progress" background taking a long time?

Also in many cases when it is a local VO, the applicant also recieves a second AOR. So if someone got a second AOR, chances are that the application is being processed at local VO.

Email comes approximately 24 hours after the status changed. That is how it turned out for me, I think generally update emails have a 24 hour lag. You will get the email tomorrow I believe.
