Bridging Open Work Permit (BOWP) under express entry - connect here

Has anyone submitted a paper BOWP application and then tried to append it? Say for example you get PNP and AOR after your WP expired but are on implied status because you already submitted a paper BOWP application? Curious on your thoughts.

OINP asking me to apply for BOWP to process my application

I also got the same call, but it was basically the day before my work permit was supposed to expire. At that point, I had already submitted a BOWP application with my OINP AOR and a letter of explanation. For OINP, I sent them a snapshot of the CIC page where it talks about implied status, my...

OINP/ Ontario PNP sent in Jan 2016, Lets connect Here

Thanks everyone! Let me know if I can be of any help to anyone. @tfreirl, yes both of my employers are in Canada. I don't know for sure, but I would presume that they would also attempt to call employers outside of Canada.

OINP/ Ontario PNP sent in Jan 2016, Lets connect Here

Guys, I got my nomination today! I applied through Human Capital Priorities Stream under CEC category and my PGWP has expired (currently on implied status). My timeline is below: Expression of Interest: December 4th, 2015 Application Submitted: January 8th, 2016 Application Received: Jan...

Has anyone ever got OINP nomination on Implied Status ?

I also got asked about my status since my work permit expired on Tuesday. They asked to send a screenshot of the CIC website where it talks about implied status since there is no other way to prove that as you don't get anything from CIC.

New Implied Status updates on CIC

So if I understand correctly, this means that there will be no implied status for those that are submitting their BOWP applications without AOR?

OINP/ Ontario PNP sent in Jan 2016, Lets connect Here

I got AOR on May 20th, my work permit is expiring tomorrow, and I just got followup questions from an Officer today. The same Officer also called my current and past employer to confirm employment information. They have asked for further evidence to support my intent to live and work in Ontario...

OINP Chat Group - Ask Any Question (UNRESTRICTED THREAD)

Thanks for the quick response prashantduggal! I would think the fact that I studied, currently live in, and previously worked in Ontario comprehensively establishes my ties to the province. Would it be worth it to send a follow up note in which I clearly state that I will move my employment to...

OINP Chat Group - Ask Any Question (UNRESTRICTED THREAD)

Re: OINP Chat Group - Ask Any Question. I have received AOR from Ontario but am starting to doubt certain things. For example, I currently reside in Ottawa, ON but work in Gatineau, QC. Does anyone see this as an issue? I'm sure there are very few cases where people live right on the border of...

Questions about filling in BOWP application form

A couple more questions about filling out the BOWP application form. I am in a bit of a unique situation as I currently work in Gatineau, QC but live in Ottawa, ON. The BOWP Application asks for the address of the current employer and address of the intended employer. Those two addresses are...

OINP AOR in May 2016...join here to discuss further progress

I called OINP and they told me that there is a priority line for people who have work permits expiring soon. Mine is expiring in early July as well. Do you guys see anything wrong with applying for a visitor permit from within Canada but then also submitting a paper BOWP application?

OINP/ Ontario PNP sent in Jan 2016, Lets connect Here

Don't think so. Atleast not for international students who are on PGWP. I think the max you can get with 1 year of Canadian experience is 444 and the max with 2 years of experience is 469. Definitely not guaranteed.

OINP/ Ontario PNP sent in Jan 2016, Lets connect Here

Please also add me to the list. After months of trying to get information about my application, I received an email from OINP today. Application received: Jan 14th, 2016 Stream: CEC, Human Capital AOR: May 20th, 2016. PGWP Expiration: July 2016 NOC: 4163 I got an email with a note saying...

OINP Application PAST 45 day deadline- CANADA POST ERROR

This seems to be a common thing with Canada Post Priority. I sent my package Jan 11th and it now says delivered to Mississauga, ON and there is no signature...I called Canada Post and they confirmed that it was delivered to 400 University Ave, but just to the mailroom and not to the OINP office.

How is work experience calculated for CEC?

The rules recently changed to allow for even non-continuous work in Canada to be counted. Is work experience calculated on an hour/week/month basis? I worked in a job for 10 months, totalling 1520 hours, but took 4 weeks unpaid leave...I then worked 2 months full time in a different job...Does...

Living in Ottawa, working in Gatineau...Grey Zone?

Ok, so Ontario PNP is a no go. I could try and learn french before my PGWP expires. i could use that to up my points or move to quebec and apply through the CSQ program....learning enough French within a year seems like a very stiff challenge. What if I got a second degree/certificate? Would...

Living in Ottawa, working in Gatineau...Grey Zone?

Thanks Scylla. That's not very encouraging, but it is what it is. I'm guessing there is no work around for a provincial nomination either? Do you have any suggestions as to what I could do other than just wait and get more points for Canadian experience?

Living in Ottawa, working in Gatineau...Grey Zone?

I currently sit at ~440 or so points and am just what options to increase my score, other than getting a Master's and learning French. As the title suggests, I live in Ottawa, but work on the Quebec side (I don't speak French). I was considering the PNP route, but I don't think my situation...
