Not in all cases. my ecas status never showed test date and I had my test yesterday. The latest status on my ECAS is still "We started processing your application on February 6, 2018."

Congrats and Good luck! Looking at the dates, it seems the trend in ottawa is for tests on Wednesdays. May 9, May 16... :D My ecas is not updated yet; i don't think it will show test/interview info ;)

I got email invite for my test/interview. it's been 3 days and ecas has not been updated yet. I checked my mailbox yesterday evening and there was nothing in there. So it's just email invite for me.

just received test invite.. May 9th.. :) @Kan_Sri , @ZingyDNA .. time to check your email. to my surprise, i got an email invite. I thought for ottawa it is snail mail.

But it is your duty to inform CIC of any change in your address. You can always go for mail forwarding option with canada post but also make sure that you don't hide any information from CIC. It is quite easy process updating address online.

My 2 cents.. you will get test invite letter before your 3rd GCMS notes.. ;)

Did you check your mailbox? not all test invites are sent by email; some test invites are sent by snail mail. depends on location; like ottawa applicants get invite by regular mail instead of email.
