    True. Being an inland applicant, you can contact your local MP but I have seen people reporting that it's not of much help, especially, if the reason for the delay is 'background checks'... But you can definitely try!

    Sure, for your peace of mind, you can definitely ask your lawyer to send you the ITA, and he shouldn't have any issues with this. Just tell him you need this for your personal record/reference, not for the PCC. :)
