Salary slips are required as part of application. since its a Dec 20 application, it must be still waiting to be opened. advise your friend to send the salary slips as supporting docs. you may refer CIC website for process of sending supporting docs

it means that the Visa officer has opened your file for processing and have initiated background and security checks through third party. Once the checks are successful, you will receive MR request

only online txns require double authentication. CIC do not charge online. yes your card should be fine. However for precaution, inform your card issuer that you are expecting a charge from CIC Canada in the coming months upto xxx which should be approved by them.

don't worry, CIC do not get authentication issues as they have your written authorisation. i had the same doubt for my Amex card but it was charged without any authentication issue. :)

I am still waiting for medicals after ECAS 2nd line update. I wanted to find out about other applicants standing at the same stage Following is the data extracted from the global sheet. It shows approx. 177 applicants VO wise month wise who have got 2nd line updated but medical request awaited

The visa is valid for 1year from the date of medicals.
