My ECAS Status changed to 'Decision made' today morning.

Same for me.And good to know about 'additional pointer'. For those of you guys waiting for MR status in ECAS, be sure that you checked it by clicking at 'In process' link, since status on the main log on page still saying 'In process'.

Same me. My MR was received on April, 4. So mileage for status updates may vary.. Patience is only advice :)

I think, yes you need. In my case I went home and will be back here in couple of days. So I will get my study permit at Pearson Airport. I guess you can use any nearby point of entry, like Niagara falls/rainbow bridge. Congratulations with getting permit!

I got mine in 10 days. So you will likely receive yours around September 10th.

I guess the only reason for US applicants apply paper based is it might be considered more authentic and trustworthy by Consulate. You can use the following thread as most comprehensive one...

I haven't got passport yet, but the letter says visa approve date is Aug 2. Judging by scholar201 timeline I will get my passport somewhat around August 15.

That should be the last thing to rely on. Even caution on their website to apply 3 months in advance should be taken with doubts. In my case it took 105 days, though I suspect they just held my case as close to the start of the studies as possible.

3 years of non close related work experinece and bachelor before. First purpose of visit was IELTS preparation course. therefore i didn't have study permit, my visa was SX-1. What about your visit?

Yes, I sent it by paper mail. The response seems just an automatic notification from Consulate.

it's finally over.. Visa approved on Aug 2, 2013. Got email from Consulate today with attached document, I think it is the same one as for everybody got while approved. Wish you all guys best of luck... especially for those who applied within Canada, cause it is really tough long awaiting...
