That is not actually correct or at least anymore, your SIN doesn't actually expire on implied status it remains valid. I moved jobs on implied status and my employer never questioned my SIN. 3 months later I am still paid on it. I called CRA also and they say my SIN is still current. I think...

I thought so to in Ontario and I went there with all the above and they said nope. She even called the ministry and checked as I was sure you could in Ontario too. She said only if you have it in writing you have been approved in principle.

It just sucks putting your life on hold. Scary that we have no health coverage yet we are paying taxes.

I confirmed with CIC officer themselves, and you do qualify for implied status as long as you submitted a BOWP application after your PR application and before the expiration of your current work permit. Hope that helps.

Can you actually obtain BOWP if your on working holiday IEC and submitted PR. It does not say that this type of permit is ineligible for BOWP. Its confusing.
