But if they are in Canada wouldn’t they qualify under CEC anyway.

Very good chance July 9th is an FSW draw. Everything is pointing to it. Airports and airlines opening up, more VACs opening and visitor visa processing starting. If an FSW is happening the CRS score is likely to remain at 470 for the rest of the year.

Looks like the Express Entry Report was a good trend indicator. The report was already showing Alberta reducing the number of immigrants to the province so it looks like that trend will continue. Makes sense because of the job losses in that province due to oil and gas.

I know I have given up on my personal Canadian dream. I could learn French to boost my points as many in the thread have started but this is a massive commitment and the payoff may be minimal at best and not something that is part of my personal goals. I have decided to learn Arabic instead and...

Haha I am noticing the opposite: 1. A larger fraction of ITAs given to FSW year over year. 2. Ontario gives out the most provincial nominees. Alberta gives less nominees year over year. 3. Food Service Supervisors seem to be a popular way to get PR (no suprise) 4. Indians gain a large portion...

Yeah but it’s still pretty crazy to see so many applicants from one country. I had no idea it was this many.

Overwhelming number of applicants are from India. Totally makes sense. Crazy to see the actual numbers.

Many International students are at the start of their careers which is why they will never be able to reach a score of 470 or higher is they are graduating with only a diploma or undergrad degree. Also if someone is graduating with no experience in a qualifying NOC position it puts them at a...

I understand most of the polls and the media is reporting that Biden is the likely winner. But I can help but feel a sense of dejavu from 2016. The Democratic Party is making the same mistakes and most voters are complacent given the candidates. I am biased as I like Bernie though and I feel he...

Immigration levels may be lowered as this crisis has had a significant economic impact on Canada. I expect 470 to be the new normal for draws.

I think 470 is now what anyone who wants to immigrate to Canada has to now aim for at the very minimum. If someone wants to be safe then a score of 475 would be required. These are the likely direction the scores are headed. Anyone looking to get PR through a diploma or a undergrad degree may...

Scores will likely stay above 475. This will be the new normal. Scores were already above 470 before the pandemic. In the future the best bet to gain PR is to come to Canada as a Masters student and then gain appropriate work experience. With hostile view of immigration that is the consensus of...

6 months ago no one could have predicted the pandemic. We are in unprecedented times.

Because of the extra 50 points it gives to your CRS score it hurts legitimate FSW and CEC applicants. I wish Canada does something in the future to address this. But I think there are way too many shady consultants, Business owners and people working for the IRCC for this situation to be...

Got ITA 21 days before completing 2 years

I would suggest trying to keep this ITA because it may not be likely that you get another ITA. I declined my BCPNP invitation expecting to get another two weeks later. I never got an invitation again. Take advantage of this ITA as the draw on July 9th may be an all inclusive draw which puts the...

Yeah sometimes LMIAs are even sold abroad as well. It’s a really shady industry. A lot of people really want to come to Canada and I believe miss the forest for the trees

    Ray of hope - FSW - 1

He is referring to a portion of people who pay employers for LMIAs to secure NOC B Canadian experience. It is rampant in the food service industry and gas stations in Canada. The real victims end up being legitimate International students and immigrants who wish to do things the right way.

I understand there are also quite a few undergrads who lost their jobs during the pandemic a few months shy of achieving a 2 years of experience. These unlucky international students may end up being the real victims during this crisis.
