@pavankarthik : Congrats on completing the PGD, it's definitely an intense program! Please do update this thread once you have the response from WES.
As for credits the data science PGD has 36 credits so there's a slight possibility that WES may recognize these courses differently i.e. if they...
@Gauravbgh : The challenge is not the transcripts. We're certain that IIITB will share transcripts but we don't know whether the 1-year PGD will be considered by Canada as a 1-year PGD, that's the real concern here. We're waiting (and bothering) @mashkk13 for his update from WES on canadian...
@buddhadevbs15 : I'd confirmed earlier from Upgrad that LJMU will certainly send a transcript indicating a block of course-credits transferred from the PGD + credits for the research coursework and the thesis. Given that WES will likely want to know more about the PGD credits, it's best to have...
It depends on the WES evaluation, which is anyone's guess. If they give you a Canadian equivalence of '1 year' PG Diploma you're all set for the 'two or more degree...". Have you submitted your evaluation request to WES?
@Himadri - that's straightforward. If the Canadian equivalency provided by WES is that of a post graduate diploma (1 year) then you get 32 points assuming you have already have a bachelors degree equivalent as well.
I didn't say their entrance criteria was tough but that doesn't have any bearing on the ECA evaluation - it doesn't matter whether you made it through on donation or wrote a JEE exam or something else, WES will evaluate the program and the university's credentials only, not their marketing...
Firstly, the master's entrance is not easy. You have to score a minimum GPA on their 1-year PG Diploma to qualify for the master's program. Secondly, the PGD program is intense with weekly assignments, projects and case studies and a pretty tough exam every 4-months and if you don't score a...
Don't need a minimum GPA for WES so long as you pass but you do need a minimum GPA to qualify for the PGD diploma from IIITB otherwise you'll only get a participation certificate. You'd want to check the program documentation they provided at the start of the program or ask your student mentor.
BTW - have you prepped with your university degree transcripts? You'll need to submit both bachelors and PGD to WES. Also, the UGC approval is useful for us (do let us know when you get it) but pointless as it's all up to WES to determine equivalency and they can be finicky. The only way to know...
Great. We'd all really appreciate if you can let us know what evaluation WES provides to you.
BTW - I've completed my WES evaluation for the Bachelor's degree so let me know if you need help with that process.
I doubt WES will tell you about this without submitting your own transcripts as a customer. It takes them 2 months just to evaluate your transcript after submitting them. In any case, hope I'm wrong and you receive some confirmation.
Guys, I've confirmed. There were was a change in recognition of the Diploma program 6 months back, it's now approved by UGC/whichever authority approves it. This means IIIT-B can now give transcripts/marks card for the program. This puts the program in a good spot for recognition from WES.
BTW...
