Some have the applications sent to local VO in less than a month.

As far as my readings are concerned, it won't show in ECAS whether we'll get PER or not. It will stay 'In Process' until the application is sent to the local visa office. The only indication of getting PER is having the email in our inbox.

Let's not fret so much if the agent won't give UCIs. It won't help us so much either if our ECAS status is 'In Process', because still, possible things happen even after charging/encashment. The best thing for us to do is just to wait for our CC charging/DD encashment and PERs.

Some Dec 10, 2172 applicants have already received their PER. With my timeline and NOC the same as theirs but no PER yet, I am so nervous I feel that my heart is gonna explode any moment. But if I let that happen, and I'll die, I won't be there to receive my Visa. ;D

How do we receive NER, by the way? Is it the same way we receive PER (thru email)? And is it the same with the timeline of getting PER (20-30 days)?

It's not the usual scenario for an application who has passed at least the first stage of completeness check. But, don't lose hope yet. Now is the right time for you to call CIC.

You would know if you have passed the completeness check if your CC has been charged or DD has been encashed. Check your bank. Then call CIC again and see if you can chance upon agents who could be of more help to you.

You may have a point, but really, only CIC knows how they do the processing. It may be that they temporarily suspend credit-card charging for some reasons, but only to resume for a certain period of time. Keep your fingers crossed.

Based on your app. received date and my timeline (Dec 10-Feb 2), you have to wait until next week (Feb 9-Feb 11) to be charged.

I am happy to be charged (Dec. 10, Feb 2). But reading posts of applicants before my app. received date who have yet to be charged brings sadness on my part. Somewhere, somehow- I think only CIC knows what's happening during the processing of our applications. I just hope they are sensitive...
