I know it’s sad but I have to say a lot of fellows here will not get their owp in 2021, unless they really speed things up, but there are so many files left behind even for Oct 2020, so it doesn’t seem optimistic.

Did anyone notice that owp has been delaying seriously and it’s just worsening? I checked the spreadsheet and found that no 2021 applicant has owp approved, same for dec2020. For Oct and nov 2020 only less than 20% have it now, and sept got much more than that, but still got only 6x% approved...

Just curious, when did / did u guys ever got the owp? Is that usually before or after the medical check? Thx

I have been searching for the answer but have found no solid answers for this question. A lot of people included it for safe, but my wife told me that she checked the instructions and it’s not needed because it will be processed at the same place. Anyone here who did not submit 5556 and still...

Same here, I think they sent out a bunch of temp number on 24 June, but keep doing the old applications afterwards.

As an outlander, they expect u to land Canada after ur PR is approved. Landing Canada as a visitor before that may terminate ur whole application.

I am an applicant in May and my wife received a temporary application number after 6 weeks, is that the pre AOR that ppl mentioned here? And is that a good or bad sign about the application? Thx

During covid, the Owp for inlanders is very unlikely to be issued in less than 7 months after the application. Even we have to make sure we have enough to support ourselves for a few years, not being able to work for such a long period is quite devastating to our mental health, what will u guys...

Yes, but I have heard that freelance music teachers may qualify for immigration if they have self employed experiences. Maybe this implies that foreign musicians have little chance to live as a performer but may success as an instrument/singing teacher?

The pandemic has simply killed the whole performing music industry, it’s not uncommon to see a lot of musicians doing other jobs to survive. The sad thing is a musician do not have transferable skills for other mid-income jobs.

Have applied for PR and owp last month, and seems like I can’t be working for the rest of 2021 because of the slow processing. So far I have heard very diverse opinions on the prospect of being a musician...
