Leaving with a two days buffer of PR obligation

Thank you. I did read through several threads on this forum and opened this thread when in need of some extra reassurance. It may have sounded repetitive but, I was at the end of my line of PR and feeling rather desperate. I also read the exact article you cited from an immigration lawyer...

Leaving with a two days buffer of PR obligation

Thank you. Another point that's interesting is how many of those who tried managed to remain in Canada for two years without being reported. To me, its quite the thriller movie

Leaving with a two days buffer of PR obligation

Dpenabill, Thank you for your very thorough response. Your observations, links and assumptions are all helpful. You're providing me with a good perspective of that there might be a lack of flexibility in the law for border officers and IRCC to officially give exceptions such as extra days...

Leaving with a two days buffer of PR obligation

I deeply regret not going even with that short amount of buffer. Now I am in the same shoes as many others here wondering how to get around the not meeting RO obligations...

    Short of Residency Obligation

I'm reading all of these posts of PRs being short on RO and still able to get back into Canada without being reported. But could there be other consequences? Could it be considered a kind of fraud and catch up on the PR sometime in the future or is it totally legal (even mentioned in a law...

Leaving with a two days buffer of PR obligation

It's what I'm thinking too. It's very non-ideal. But where do you get this info? Your personal opinion or actual response from cic?

Leaving with a two days buffer of PR obligation

Does anyone have any experience with getting an extension of their PR visa like a buffer in case of emergencies right at the border or by calling them?

    Carrying Someone else's PR Card

It worked for us without any issues, no one asked for the authorization letter. If youre concerned just call the customs of where you will be arriving and ask if they really need it. I did and got the reply "that would be nice", in other words, they didn't really care.

Leaving with a two days buffer of PR obligation

Am I interpreting the half day as full day when leaving and entering Canada correctly ? The rules i read regarding this was when calculating citizenships not necessarily about keeping to pr obligations only

Leaving with a two days buffer of PR obligation

Thanks. Are you saying it's wise to wait to renew the PR card straight away? I was planning to apply exactly on expiry date or some time before visa expires in case I would need to leave the country following the 2 yrs. I wouldn't be meeting the RO requirement until the expiry date of my visa...

Leaving with a two days buffer of PR obligation

Hi folks, Like many others here I've struggled to keep to residency obligations meeting the 2 out of 5 yrs but based on my calculation I would be able to go to Canada with a buffer of TWO DAYS to be out of the country. How I calculated this was by counting 3 years forward from PR landing day and...

Health insurances that will cover recurrent emergency care

Thanks. Any more? Manulife outlines clearly in their policy they won't accept it. Also, insurance companies will all brag about how big and famous they are so for someone that have no idea it's quite difficult to identify the real ones.

Health insurances that will cover recurrent emergency care

Hello, I'm trying to navigate the different healthcare insurances for visitors and/or new immigrants in Canada but am only able to find insurances that solely cover first-time medical emergencies, but whatever the condition that caused the emergency was will not be covered should it occur...

    Temporary long term housing options

I don't mind airbnb price range, I saw cheaper rates we would be able to afford. However I am sceptical to airbnb as a system. It's easy to fake a reference. Do you have any good websites for finding rentals where short rentals might be possible ? Would love to stay in condo like buildings, but...
