Boarding schools and some universities are ideally set up for quarantine. Their students are lowest risk possible. It makes no medical or financial sense for Canada.

Time between AIP & final approval (USA)?

After a lot of searching here and other websites where Canadian study permit applicants can be found, I could find only a single person who had received a study permit approved after March 18, an EU national resident in Asia. That is it. Several US nationals going to my daughter's university...

CTV reporting Immigration making announcement at 10.00 ET

It was interesting, but not about those abroad waiting to join and rejoin families or about the several 100000 students waiting for approval of study permits. It's a residence path for asylum seekers who worked for nothing in care settings over the worst of the pandemic, a reward for their...

Plus the delay by the university who told my daughter not to worry, could have had her letter in October, it finally arrived from the university beginning Febuary 2020, she is on a gap year so her previous school reports submitted in October were all that was needed. Yes the CAQ was awful...

Yes I thought that could be another reason, you're probably right. Everything into perspective, their situation is worse than a student unable to study.

    Questions for Webinar on 13/8/2020

It is arbitrary as some people with an approved study permit applied February 2020 andsome people without an approved so applied also in February. Furthermore, if you travel from the US, there is no 18 march rule.

Any M COLLEGE applicants for Fall or Winter intake?

This looks like a private college. For me would never consider a private instruction. Red flag for you and visa officer. Research public institutions.

The webinar did not say that, it said the aim is to get all study permit applications past stage 1 of the 2 stage process by 15 September. That is bad news, very bad news.

Can a foreign students land in the US and enter Canada even if their study permit was approved after March 18?

Matt you are the first that I have found. What IRCC office did you apply to an what nationality are you if you don't mind? And yes I believe the US arrival exception would apply to other nationalities as it doesn't state nationality but arrival from a country.

Can a foreign students land in the US and enter Canada even if their study permit was approved after March 18?

I have yet to find any foreign nationals whose study permits were approved after 18th March. Many posters are mistaking the stage 1 approval of the 2 stage application as an approval of study permit, this is not the case. A study permit is approved when you receive a letter of introduction AKA...

Anyone that traveled with approval after march? Providing an essential reason.
