    Parent Super Visa Questions

Oh, they can't work on a Super Visa. My parents are retired and receive a pension from their previous employment. I would assume that they would need to claim that income and file taxes as a resident in Canada, even under a Super Visa. So, that's where I'm coming from in my thinking of them...

    Parent Super Visa Questions

The same reason anyone else coming to Canada qualifies...though they are new, they will be paying taxes just like everyone else. Besides the 3-month waiting period, why not, considering they will pay taxes and contribute to the economy? I know it isn't that way, but it isn't completely...

    OHIP eligibility and other options

Yeah, I suppose. I imagine it takes time to get processed though...I would think the sooner you can apply, the better. Should have landed in Alberta. LOL

    OHIP eligibility and other options

Ok, so I just landed today June 18, 2016!!!! :D ;D :D ;D HURRAY!!!! But how is a person supposed to apply for OHIP as a new immigrant? In the list of documents you have 3: 1 and 2 are no problem. #1 Proof of Immigration Status, #3 Support of Identity.... But how are you supposed to...

LANDING IN CANADA ??? -All You Need To Know.

Congratulations. I'm glad I saw this...I have been away from the forum too and didn't realize that the requirements for the PR Card photos had changed. My wife and 3 kids are going to be doing our landing at Toronto Pearson International Airport this Sunday, 06/19. Our COPRs expire on 06/25...

LANDING IN CANADA ??? -All You Need To Know.

:) :D ;D ;) :D ;D ;) :D ;D Well, I have our flight arranged and we will be arriving in Canada on June 19th! I am trying to set up a reservation for a rental car at the Toronto Airport where we will land so we have some transportation for our first bit of time there, but now I'm thinking I'm not...

LANDING IN CANADA ??? -All You Need To Know.

Are there certain times you can't land at the Toronto Airport? So if I have a flight that has me arriving at 11:30pm, is that too late for a landing or can you still complete landing at that time of day?

    FSW 2014 - CPC OTTAWA - Visa Office - Let's Connect Here

Wow. So, in reality it is 4 years to because you have to have filed for 3 years. Then with the 5 years processing time that means it's more like a 9 year period. That's such a long time. Especially for a parent/grandparent who may be older already. I don't suppose you can use US, IRS...

    Parent Super Visa Questions

Bummer...even longer. Makes sense on the 4 vs 3 years. Yeah, I know there is the super visa, but the question I have about that is on health coverage. Are parents who hold a Super Visa eligible for healthcare like OHIP, for example? I know this would make them temporary residents. I can't...

    FSW 2014 - CPC OTTAWA - Visa Office - Let's Connect Here

Well, now that I have been issued COPR and will be landing in the near future, I am thinking about the parent sponsor path. It's good to see that the current government is making that easier in that they are going to be increasing the number of allowed applications per year. However, in...

    Parent Super Visa Questions

Wait a minute...now that I have actually been granted PR and am planning to land soon I am thinking about this again. Especially now that the current government wants to increase the numbers of parent sponsorships allowed each year. I was hoping to land and immediately sponsor my parents. Now...

Right...These are two separate issues: 1. Time you must be present in Canada to be eligible to apply for Citizenship. *You must have been physically present in Canada as a permanent resident for at least 1,460 days during the six years immediately before the date of your application. You must...

Re: FSW 2014 Applicants Timeline- Lets Network Here.

You can do it. I've seen many post that they do it. You just have to plan ahead. Are you from a non-exempt country? All you have to do is apply for the PRTD and you can come back in without any issues later. I have also seen people use the address of a friend who is already in Canada to...

Re: FSW 2014 Applicants Timeline- Lets Network Here.

According to the CIC website the current wait time is 39 days. I'm not sure how accurate that is as I have seen some posts of people saying it took longer. Maybe they have caught up and are processing within 39 days now. I'm not sure...

It is amazing to see politicians actually keeping their word. Doesn't happen down here in the US often. This was Trudeau's letter to McCallum upon his acceptance as the Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship. (The name change of alone was telling...)...

I knew I had read it somewhere also where it said that if you failed to include spouse or dependents that you would NEVER be able to sponsor them. That's why I was asking him what the circumstances were. koolsid4u: Definitely get this fixed CPC-O before landing.

You didn't apply for her at the same time? Why was she not included in your application for PR? Was she over the age of "dependent child"?
