Buddy the best way to prepare for the interview is to get the notes on your file by the Visa Office there are many agencies in Canada which can get these notes for you , once you get the notes then you wll get the idea of reason behind the interview and then prepare accordingly :)

Buddy , write this to your Local Visa office that the waiting time for FBI clearance is 4-5 months , then they will increase the time line to submit the docs , if you havent submitted your finger prints then do it on priority so taht you can save the time . but informing your visa office should...

Buddy get the notes on your file , they will help you to prepare in your interview in better way . Certain agencies provide the notes in just 40-60 CAD :)

I think she cant live there after getting letter of rejection of her work permit it will be illegal will have adverse impact on the processing of her PR its my personal suggestion for some good suggestion ask her to contact some immigration Lawyer.
