    Manorite, My MP asked me to contact him again if I don;t hear anything from CIC-ND till the end of September. I think you should also follow that.

    For sure, if the PR holder sponsor leaving outside for 6 months, CIC will reject the application. Makes sense. :)

    This is what the CIC webpage says- "you can leave and re-enter Canada while your application is being processed as long as you meet all requirements to enter Canada" So I think visiting for a short period back to India is fine.     Once they assign your case a file number, you will be able to login to ecas. CIC will send you an email about sponsorship decision and along with that they will tell when the file will be with ND. So wait for email or call CIC.

    You may want to give call CIC customer care. Its clearly more than 90 days for your application, so you should try calling them and find out whats happening. As per CIC website they are working on files received on 30 April, so you should have received file number by now.

    There are only 9 statutory holidays that apply to Federal employees (those at CIC included), and the "Civic day" is NOT one of them, so I doubt that employees at CIC will take the day off tomorrow.
