    Spouse from war torn countries - for ex: Afghanistan had to wait for 36 months. Under the new process, it would be 12 months. More uniformity with this process, imho.

    I was looking at outland applications as such. And not inland. All the outland applications post Dec 7 seem to reflect 12 months. As far as backlogs are concerned, they have stated specifically most of the applications will be finalized by 2017 end.
