Australia is a beautiful country and I am sure you will love it here. Yes, you can earn a lot more as compared to students in Canada and living expenses can be reduced to a great extent if you are ready to live in sharing. Getting PR is hard as compared to Canada but still people manage to get it.

CIC received my wife's application on 8-12-14 and it has been received by MK on CIC's behalf. There is another reason for us to be happy as I have applied for my Australian Citizenship as well.

Not always, i have friends who got visas approved withing 60 days and the fastest one got it in 21 days..... wow PR in 21 days of application. Yes it does take 2-4 months for the skills assessment. Australian appliaction processing standards are way higher and i doubt Canada can match the pace...
