All desis are Indians, but all Indians are not desis. There are many highly talented, completely honest and well cultured Indians/ Indo-Canadians in Canada, who neither follow nor support the 'desi attitude'.
Completely agreed with keesio. It is because of scams by some 'oversmart' people that CIC now investigates a lot and that causes delays for even honest people who have been genuinely living in Canada.
CIC routinely asks for CBSA reports. In fact, during the interview after the test, the CIC officer asked me if I had CBSA report with me. When I said no, she said she would obtain it directly from CBSA, which takes them only couple of days. If required, they would also ask for a report from the...
I don't think you should be worried. Same day trips don't count as absence from Canada. So that should be alright. As long as you can demonstrate that you have met the residence requirement, you should be fine.
Msafiri, thanks for posting link to the interesting decision. I went through it.
It is clear that it is not possible to outsmart the system and 'buy' PR and citizenship by incorporating a Canadian company as a device. Landed immigrants need to live here in Canada (or be genuinely seconded...
I found the book very interesting. Canada has rich history and diversity.

It might be worth providing the certified translation to the officer during the interview. Though the stamps are for the pre-landing period, there is no guarantee that the CIC will not call for a translation. And, that might cause significant delay in processing.
I used the online tests at citizenshipsupport.ca, studied the Discover Canada booklet and was able to score 20/20. But, at the same time, it is necessary to invest reasonable time and efforts, so that you don't have to worry about the test result.
In my case, that line never disappeared, though the CIC call center agents confirmed many times that RQ response was received. So what you see is normal.
You should submit as much information as possible, even if you have already provided the same with the application. Also, it might be helpful if you can also prepare an index or table of contents and spiral bind the documents.
drnafisa,
A pr card is merely a travel document. Therefore, expiry of pr card does not mean expiry of pr status. As a matter of fact, I renewed my pr card nearly 3 years after it was expired? That did not have any impact on my pr card renewal or citizenship application.
It might be advisable...
Hi Swede,
Did the officer mention in the interview whether s/he was satisfied with the RQ response? Have you ordered ATIP?
Another factor: is it close to or over 35 months since CIC received your application?
