    It shouldn't be a problem. CIC put 9 months there to get a safe zone for them to have enough time to get to the payment processing stage. Based on last year, 90% of payments were processed within a month.

    You can go to a branch with the receipt to check if your cheque is cashed. I don't really know if bank draft is good or not. I wouldn't worry about it tho.

    The info in step 4 may be for general apps. I am sure credit cards and certified cheques (money order/bank draft) are the only two options.
