What they could be looking at is if company website, address, phone number etc and company background(work profile/products etc) are matching with what is mentioned in reference letter. That is the basic way of verification they might follow. If there is some discrepancy/doubt, they might pass...

when you say Ghost email - do you mean meds passed? I have also submitted on 25th May.. 30-June-Meds passed 3-July IP1 and 7-July - NA and its there ...hoping something will happen by end of this month with good hopes :-)
