Moving to Canada from USA with Approved I140

I had 3 years more in my H1B when I quit US and moved to Canada. Can I in future use those 3 years and not subject to lottery if any US employer wants to hire me ?

Quebec Skilled Worker Federal Stage (After CSQ)

This really makes sense. After all they too have should meet their service standards but by skewing it with these "workarounds" and at the cost of unlucky applicants.

Quebec Skilled Worker Federal Stage (After CSQ)

This is very helpful. Thank you very much for that information. I was under the impression that one could apply only closed work permit in Quebec. So closed work permit if one holds a CSQ and have not applied for permanent residency yet. Open work permit if one holds a CSQ and have...

    > I learned how to get an open work permit. How do you get an open work permit in Quebec unless you are a spouse of a closed work permit applicant ?

Quebec Skilled Worker Federal Stage (After CSQ)

Insight being whether I should wait for a PR from Quebec when I can get it faster thru Express Entry because my situations have changed now. I also have an EOI from Australia. So these numbers will help me and others like me to decide if we should waste our time relying on Quebec to get its act...

Quebec Skilled Worker Federal Stage (After CSQ)

According to Canada Quebec accord, the Quebec govt must inform Feds each year about the intake quotas. If the CAQ govt has informed the Feds that they need only X intake in 2019, that number will be present in Canada Quebec accord. We will have to get this exact number out of their asses...

Quebec Skilled Worker Federal Stage (After CSQ)

Isn't the Quebec govt also going to put a clause like "conditional PR only" and only if you pass Quebec values test and French, then only your conditional PR will convert to permanent PR ? What I read in the Bill is that, Quebec will persuade Federal govt to modify the Canada Quebec accord and...

Philippines: New Processing Time from 20 to 21 months now...

It's strange. Now there are no new CSQ being issued because of the new Bill suspended all applications. But the federal processing time keeps increasing !! Very bad for people immigrating to Québec. The delays are increasing and I think it's hopeless to wait for 21 months and what if they...

Quebec Skilled Worker Federal Stage (After CSQ)

Isn't this value same as ( months passed after application received ) / 20 months ? So 43% means your application was received 8.6 months ago. 1 month = 5%. I do not think there is anything special about this progress bar. Everyone's progress bar will the same. What do you think ?

Quebec Skilled Worker Federal Stage (After CSQ)

Two reasons I can think of. 1. New CAQ Quebec government has cut down annual intake quota for immigrants ( According to Canada Quebec Accord) . So it makes Federal to issue PR to less number of people per year under QSW category. Because of quota cuts, there will be backlogs like 20 months and...

    Inland Quebec Applicants -Federal Stage

Yes, but my CSQ expires 2020 October and my work permit expires 2020 October both at the same time. So should I go thru another LMIA again ? With the current delays, I am not sure if I will get PR before October 2020.

@Maxsharma12 Is it true that we can only be a temporary work permit in Quebec only for 4 years and then it cannot be renewed ? My First work permit: November 2016. Renewed work permit by virtue of getting CSQ on : November 2018 Work permit expiry: October 2020 PPR Estimate: September 23...

My progress bar shows: Date received: January 23, 2019 Estimated completion date: September 23, 2020 Estimated remaining processing time: 17 Month(s) Actually, is this of any use ? its just a dumb ( AOR date - 20 months) / 20 % progress bar. It will be the same for everyone based on that...

    Inland Quebec Applicants -Federal Stage

Yes I got the email too. The express entry guys says, its a fixed progress bar. It counts from AOR date as 0% + 6 months as 100% progress. I think its just to avoid applicant's anxiety or stop them from calling CIC every now and then. :p For us it will be AOR date 0% and + 20 months to 100%.
