Is Quebec a wise choice if you are a high skilled immigrant ?

Anecdata: I am a heavy user of Uber & Uber Eats, what I see in Montreal is that many of them are immigrants from their French colonies. Blue collar jobs: non white French speakers from colonies. White collars jobs: White Blue eyed French speakers from Europe...

Is Quebec a wise choice if you are a high skilled immigrant ?

The point of my post is simple : High skilled immigrants should systematically avoid Quebec. They will use Express Entry anyway. By immigrating to Quebec, they are restricting their future, career and their kids future. Many high skilled foreign workers who came to work in Quebec got trapped...

Is Quebec a wise choice if you are a high skilled immigrant ?

Reasons: 1. Quebec is now ruled by a right wing anti immigrant CAQ government. Nationalist sentiments and anti immigraton rhetoric are running high in the province. CAQ government has emboldened many racists who is spewing out hate online just like Trump's America. Reports of racism are at an...

You just received your invitation for CSQ. There is nothing to surrender. Just don't respond to document request from MIDI that's all. If you want to apply for EE, do it at your own discretion. The pros and cons of EE from Québec have already been discussed here. Pls go thru it.

LMIA work permit can take 6+ months ( Atleast that was the case in 2016 when mine was done). Not sure if they have improved their processing time now. LMIA in Quebec is a joint process between Quebec MIDI and Federal. So there is a lot of delay and beauracracy in LMIA process. So if your LMIA...

You are a family, the officer will consider both of your intentions together and not as that of the primary applicant alone. Many have succeeded in applying EE from Quebec by quoting those reasons and many have failed too, like the person who posted recently in this thread. What might happen is...

Quebec is a bad choice for high skilled immigrants and that too when you guys got ITA for Express Entry !!!. By all means, please do not come to Quebec on a temporary work permit. You guys got an ITA, get the PR done and come to Canada. Do not make the same mistake as I did in 2016. I am still...

Quebec Skilled Worker Federal Stage (After CSQ)

With 343 points, your chances for getting an invitiation in Express Entry is bleak unless they invite for specific trade skillsets or you get a provincial nomination.

    Inland Quebec Applicants -Federal Stage

CIC processing time increased to 22 months from 21 months now ! , I am now begining to wonder if we will ever get PR in Canada. Almost 2 years for PR in Quebec while skilled workers like us gets PR in rest of Canada within 4 to 6 months. Was it a mistake coming to work in Quebec ?

Applying for Express Entry while living in Montreal

Moving to Québec is a mistake I think. Express Entry from Québec is 50-50. Sometimes you will be put into review requires and your application will take more than an year for a decision. Moreover you will have to prove intentions. It all depends on the visa officer who is checking your...

Csq & workpermit expiring in federal stage (QSWP)

Thanks @Maxsharma12 I am much relieved now. @werwe05 All your concerns are answered below. Do not worry, because you have CSQ and AOR in hand. Your employer can extend job offer or a new employer can give you a job offer and with that you can extend your work permit, even if your CSQ is expired...

Csq & workpermit expiring in federal stage (QSWP)

@Immstu I will have the same issue in near future because the Federal process is now 21 months !!. So you are saying that even if my CSQ is going to expire and I have an AOR from Federal stage, I can apply for an LMIA exempt closed work permit with that ? The work permit will be granted for 2...

Regarding moving to st Anne de bouville

Not sure why you chose Quebec to study and immigrate, if you aware of the risks go ahead. Maybe you have done your research already ? Quebec immigration is highly volatile with the right wing CAQ government. Xenophobia and anti immigrants(tion) is on the rise in Quebec. Did you read this ...

Planning on migrating to Quebec on 2020

If you are high skilled ( which seems like it from your description), Quebec is the worst province to immigrate. Why dont you try Express Entry ? Immigrating to Quebec will take atleast 4 years while Express Entry is only 6 months.
