PPR Recieved! Now a few quick questions

@stubish, I just followed the same thing I did for TRV stamping at Ottawa earlier. http://www.cic.gc.ca/submit-envoyer/offices-bureaux-eng.asp#C. Of course the address and instructions are different for PR.

Canadian Internship experience for CEC or FSW

Hi AmirHNK and anyone else following this thread. I just received my passport request for PR today. So my application has been essentially approved. So no worries. It was exactly as my University's International student advisor mentioned.

AOR in March 2016 >>>>> Good Luck ALL

Received PPR today morning. :) To be fair though, based on GCMS notes, my processing was completed on July 23rd. So CIC did sit on the the results for a while.

AOR in March 2016 >>>>> Good Luck ALL

Just received another copy of my GCMS notes from a request earlier last month. Looks like my status has been Pass for Security, Criminality and Eligibility since the end of July. Essentially, CIC has been holding onto the results for the last month and a half. Pretty sure it's the same for all...

Help - Need to travel while awaiting for express entry decision

Thanks for the helpful reply. Since it is just one trip, I could time it between the PPR and reentry, avoiding the hassle with crossing the border and saving time to book an appointment at CIC. All personal trips I'd need to visit family in the US, I could always drive and park at an airport...

Help - Need to travel while awaiting for express entry decision

Bumping this post up since I need a response to the same question. I have an upcoming work trip to the US at the end of September and I will be completing 6 months after AOR in less than 3 weeks. I found out from a different post that the multiple entry TRV gets cancelled when we get PPR and...

Landed 18-June. Both me & my fiancee got a job withing a month. Ask me anything!

I have one major bone to pick with your comments about education You do get scholarships and grants for tuition if you have good grades and are willing to put in the extra work required to apply for them. You don't need to pay the entire tuition out of pocket or take loans. Besides most of my...

Job Bank Matching Is A Scam / We're Fools to Believe it!

I wouldn't immediately dismiss it as a scam. I did however, register on it, inspite of already having a full-time job because my work permit doesn't have an LMIA. It was a formality to activate my Express Entry profile

AOR in March 2016 >>>>> Good Luck ALL

I was wondering, how much time does it take normally for people to get their passport back from CPC Ottawa for PPR? Normally for TRV it takes just about a week including time spent with Canada post( if you live in Ontario). Just booked tickets for a trip in August so trying to estimate what to...

Track your PR card timeline and processing times here

Hi folks, I see the long delays with receiving PR cards post landing. I recollect someone mentioning issues with crossing borders without PR card. I am presently awaiting PPR within a month or two. As someone who's in Canada presently on a valid work permit and temporary resident visa, could I...

AOR in March 2016 >>>>> Good Luck ALL

I am an FSW inland applicant(no PNP, no LMIA). I applied for GCMS notes earlier and my status for R11.2 as of June 7th has been Recommend Passed. Everything else looked all hunky dory from the notes. Security was in a 'Not started' state and Criminality was 'in progress'. The only CPC offices...

My two cents on new immigration rules this fall

Finding a job in the US in STEM fields is not that hard. I graduated from a Canadian university in Engineering. My first couple of interviews were for US-based positions. It's a lot easier finding the same job in the US than it is in Canada. Please don't make assumptions based on experiences...

Would you say it's likely/possible to get the PR visa after graduation?

You could always go to Grad school in Ontario and apply for PR immediately after it. I am aware of people who did that after getting a degree.

does anyone here has the same situation like me?

I understand you are waiting for any news. Have you tried applying for GCMS notes? I did and helped me rest easy, since I knew my application is somewhere along the process. You will be able to see what has happened in the background. Since you are CEC, I am assuming you are in Canada.

What To Do If I Have Bad Credit

I agree with you there but even trustworthy websites/ stores have data breaches. Target had a data breach just about 2 years ago and people's credit and debit information was stolen. : http://www.wsj.com/articles/target-reaches-settlement-with-visa-over-2013-data-breach-1439912013 Home depot...

What To Do If I Have Bad Credit

You have really good advice and agree with most of it. I have only one issue primarily with using debit cards for online payments. If your card ends up stolen in a low-secured website, it will be a nightmare to restore your funds. In fact even a mischarge on your account takes 2-3 days to return...

Is Canada a big govt marketing or not ?

One more fact I'd like to add about PhD holders driving cabs is that they probably wouldn't be gainfully employed in their home countries either. More often than not, they usually have degrees from a really lower-ranked university in their own country. Most of Asia has a very large number of bad...

Canadian Internship experience for CEC or FSW

GCMS are notes you could request to receive after submitting a PR application. Quite helpful for status and you can proactively submit data if it looks like they are going to reject for any reason. A10 is an initial verification an R11.2 is a second eligibility verification. Here's one thread...

Canadian Internship experience for CEC or FSW

Hi Nalanda, Your work status is a little iffy. I am not sure if it will be counted. It might be counted. I believe you need 1 year continuous full-time work experience which I had during my internship. AmirHNK appears to have it too. Since you are a recent grad, see if you could get in touch...

Canadian Internship experience for CEC or FSW

Hi AmirHNK, I applied for GCMS notes recently and my eligibility shows up as Recommended Passed. I passed A10 and R11.2 with zero issues. There were no hiccups from what I could see from the notes. Right now my security is in progress. Essentially, they are not going to reject your experience if...
