We uploaded ours 6 days after AOR in March and still hasn’t been “reviewed” although we’ve had file transfer etc. I think sometimes they don’t change it to “reviewing” ; ie, the officer just reads over it to clarify and then proceeds without going through GC and updating

    FEBRUARY 2019 *OUTLAND* SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP

I phoned a few days before I got transferred and they said the same; criminality passed, waiting on security and eligibility. And then 4 days later they transferred it to Mississauga so hoping my security has started now. No idea how long this takes? I know eligibility is done at the forwarded...

Then your file must still be at Sydney. Whether they are processing your background check or not is hard to know as you don’t have access to GC. But your application looks like it’s moving. Remember that it’s a 12 month process, and you’re only a few months in :) Your representative will get...

    FEBRUARY 2019 *OUTLAND* SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP

You can check on GC. It will say “we are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information”. That line on ECAS that says “we started processing” is technically your AOR2. It means that whichever Visa Office you have been transferred to, has officially...

He can enter Canada under dual intent which is for people of a visa exempt country. Dual intent is a valid status to be under and you can find more information on this on the CIC website. It is where you arrive and tell the CBSA officer that you are waiting for your Permanent Residence to be...

We all understand. It’s very hard, especially being apart from our loved ones, but just remember that getting Permanent Residency in Canada is not a right, it’s a privilege, so we must respect the process that they do. Best of luck. Keep us updated!

It’s an anxious time for all who go through this process, but CIC do make it clear that it’s a 12 months process for 80% of applicants. Stay positive :)

    FEBRUARY 2019 *OUTLAND* SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP

Background check is very vague; it consists of criminality and security. Eligibility is usually started once the file is transferred and is often the last stage. It’s where they look at your relationship and your own credentials that you claimed, employment etc. You won’t know when you past...

    FEBRUARY 2019 *OUTLAND* SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP

It’s so hard to know! Everyone’s PR journey is very different. There is a London VO thread actually that you can read through to see other people’s timelines etc. I’ll attach it below...

    FEBRUARY 2019 *OUTLAND* SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP

Pakistan applicants get transferred to London VO usually for the “further processing”, and London VO has a big backlog as they process 15 different countries. You’re file will be transferred at some stage, but it’s most likely waiting to be transferred there. I think there are a few others on...
