    CoPR and Travel Question

Yeah, it's not a visa. That is why your husband will get a permanent resident visa attached to his passport, along with the COPR. Think about it, your husband is in the same situation as me, except the problematic country for him is Germany, and mine is the US. Fortunately for me, I can easily...

    CoPR and Travel Question

The COPR is not a visa, if you only had a COPR, you wouldn't even be allowed to board a flight to Canada. Again, your husband needs a visa. I doubt they would let him board the plane to Frankfurt without the visa, even though he'd have the COPR and the visa to fly to Canada.

    CoPR and Travel Question

How does it contradict my first post? Your husband needs a visa to go through Germany, whether it's a transit visa or a visitor's visa. The COPR is not a replacement of your passport, that is what it means when it says it's not a travel document. The COPR is only for landing in Canada, nothing...

    CoPR and Travel Question

That could work, but the layover should be bigger since he'd be doing the landing in Toronto. I also have the option to go Bogota-Toronto-Vancouver, but I think I'll go with Bogota-Mexico-Vancouver. If I want to go through the US (which would be a bit cheaper) I would have to get a transit visa...

    CoPR and Travel Question

If your husband is Turkish, then yes, he needs a visa to enter Germany. Same way I, as a Colombian, need a visa to fly to the United States, even if it's just for a connecting flight. That's why I can't take any flights to Canada that go through the US. This link tells you that you do need a...

Application not being processed after more than one year

Your friend will have to start the process from scratch again. Make sure you use the text notification option so your friend gets a text confirmation once Mississauga has received the application. It's very easy to get it, just printing off one page or two with some bar codes and stuff.

Application not being processed after more than one year

Then what on earth have you been waiting for all this time? If you don't get acknowledge of receipt, there's no application being processed. You never got an application number nor UCI, you never got any correspondence from them. Acknowledge of receipt (AOR) only takes a few weeks. At the first...

Application not being processed after more than one year

****JULY 2017***** OUTLAND SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP OUTSIDE OF CANADA

Congratulations! It's kinda incredible that your process, for example, is taking 8 months and a bit, while mine will be under 8 months and my medical was delayed three weeks, and I had an interview that delayed it two months. Anyway, I'm happy for you!

Outland App Submitted Feb 2017 From Lebanon - Seeking Advice

Then I honestly don't understand what is taking so long. It's puzzling. Your visa office has to be the slowest one ever if processing a very straight forward case takes over a year. Definitely, order GCMS notes to figure out what is going on. If you find something odd, perhaps you could contact...

Outland App Submitted Feb 2017 From Lebanon - Seeking Advice

My guess is that they are still reviewing eligibility, which is whether they have concerns about the genuineness of your relationship or not. That's probably what they mean by first stage. However, if that is the case, they are being incredibly slow with it. You should order GCMS notes to find...

    Mexico

Hey Majesty! Just wanted to tell you that I got decision made today on GCkey! That one is always updated before ecas in my case, so hopefully it'll be updated tomorrow. Apparently they printed the visa off today, because it's showing something that it wasn't showing before, some counterfoil and...

****JULY 2017***** OUTLAND SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP OUTSIDE OF CANADA

Apparently they issued the visa today, because GCkey is showing something I hadn't seen before. Some counterfoil number, and its expiry date, which is exactly one year from the day I passed my medical exam. Also it shows today as the status updated date, but I'm pretty sure that stuff wasn't...

I just checked now, hadn't checked it since this morning, and it says Decision Made!! It's on GCkey though but in my case that one has always been updated before ecas. Hopefully ecas will be updated soon too, and my passport will be back this week!

Question about withdrawing from spousal sponsorship

If you are going to separate/get a divorce, you'll need to withdraw the application. Otherwise you will be committing immigration fraud. About your other question, this is the family sponsorship section of the forum, so most people are not familiar with that route. You may want to go to the...

Petition to Ensure Equality in Processing Times - Please Sign

Why do you compare two completely different streams in this context? It doesn't make any sense at all. Economic streams don't have to prove something that can be very difficult to prove in nature, like relationships. If you want to actually change things, you would be better off having a better...

Applying in-land, what to say at the border control?

Patronizing? That's a funny one. While canuck most likely has more knowledge than you, and me as well, regarding immigration to Canada, which actually makes her superior, in regards to that knowledge, she is not treating you with an apparent kindness while showing she feels superior to you...

Applying in-land, what to say at the border control?

It's just another way to say "you should". Just being more familiar with "you should" doesn't mean "it would behoove you to mention" is very rude and aggressive. I would assume that the reason why canuck targets the information you posted (not really you, I don't see it being personal like you...
