****August 2019 - Inland Spousal PR + OWP****

I knew the order would be a tense subject. I put post-it notes on every page and colour coded them to know what is associated with what. It may not be perfect, but these aren't robots approving this VERY error prone application process. I have to believe there will be some leeway.....you won't...

****August 2019 - Inland Spousal PR + OWP****

Thank you both for your replies. I understand now that it is "allowed, but your millage may vary". Careful thought will be put into this should a leave be necessary. Here's hoping for a smooth process!

****August 2019 - Inland Spousal PR + OWP****

I have some high level questions. OWP is just a normal temporary work permit, so presumably you can leave and come back to Canada without worry once granted? Can an OWP expire before PR application is granted? Or is the validity for the entire application duration?

That's what we did since it is an open work permit and no job lined up.

****August 2019 - Inland Spousal PR + OWP****

A good few of the July 2019 folks (about 10) have gotten their AORs in about 40 days. I'm hoping to get our AOR by September 15th.

Same person who accepted mine. That'll at least confirm we got it to the right spot!

I applied Aug1, very nervous, very excited! Good luck to everyone. For those who have not updated the "Inland August" tab with their info, would be very nice to fill it in if possible. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Gm315tmNKWoywb7PwZBiE67fUmznYQrNhYVWXPXXJBw/edit?usp=sharing Cannot...

Understood, thank you for that additional information. Tough call, given the timing of everything. We'll have to give it some thought. Thank you so much for your assistance.

Spousal Sponsorship near the end of IEC - Guidance needed for when to do what for minimal hassle!

Almost forgot. Very true. In that case it is a question of what will be faster to be working again. - Outland application submitted early May and getting PR - Inland application (w/ OWP) submitted late July and OWP approved while awaiting PR Based off Check processing times essentially saying...

Spousal Sponsorship near the end of IEC - Guidance needed for when to do what for minimal hassle!

Understood. Thank you for the information on implied status. You would be correct. Due to the incredibly poor timing of the vacation, we can submit inland spousal alongside OWP while IEC is active, but we will not be in Canada for the entire active period. IEC will be expired upon return to...

Spousal Sponsorship near the end of IEC - Guidance needed for when to do what for minimal hassle!

Noticed your edit before I posted - thanks! Sorry for the wall of text. Wow. Bookmarking that. Thank you! Just to clarify on my end, we are not eligible to extend the IEC (Japan is 12 months only). With that knowledge then, how does that alter the application for OWP? I was convinced it would...

Spousal Sponsorship near the end of IEC - Guidance needed for when to do what for minimal hassle!

Hello, I am a long time lurker (Canadian Citizen), hence the username. Let me try and keep this short and sweet, as I'm sure these are hard to read if I get too confusing. - My partner (Japanese National) is currently in Canada on Working Holiday (IEC) - ends in June 2019 - no children, no...
