I haven't seen any for BC on here and was wondering the timeframe. Alberta seem to be providing LMIAs quite quickly. Our lawyers were optimistic with 6-8 weeks. 14 weeks before you even got a file number? Was your application sent back at all for amendments?

When we had to correct my forms my employer got an email, but I believe they had to fax it back. I think it's a DO NOT REPLY type email.

Don't quote me on it, but I thought you had to live with your partner for 2 years before sponsorship. Rules changed from one year to two October 2012 I believe.

I got insurance from the UK when I arrived as it states they ask you for proof when you get your visa at the airport. They didn't ask me and after 2 months in Canada I went on their insurance scheme anyway it was a complete waste of money!

The reason I asked an immigration lawyer as there has been mixed reviews about this. A girl said she went on implied status for 5 months and she went via IEC. Who advised you that is isn't allowed? Where did you get that information from?

I came to Vancouver on IEC and I'm on implied status. Currently have a concurrent application for LMIA/WP... I have it in writing from the lawyer that I'm allowed to be on implied status, as I questioned immigration lawyer about it.
