Spousal Sponsorship in-land Applications 2016 timeline and updates

Just a general FYI for people curious about leaving Canada while their application is in process. I just got back from a trip to the USA without any problems entering through YUL. Same deal as always, look at the passport - scan the visa page - entry stamp - have a nice day. No big deal. Have...

That consent form has caused you nothing but trouble. I don't know why you didn't just apply again online, once for you, once for the PA like the rest of us on here. What did they say about the general status of the application?

Spousal Sponsorship in-land Applications 2016 timeline and updates

Actually, this is a special case where the work permit does permit re-entry to Canada. To return to Canada after a visit only to the USA (or St. Pierre et Miquelon), anyone who has a valid work permit (or study permit) is visa-exempt. So, if you got your OWP and your TRV has expired, you can...

However, that implied status in this case has already come and gone. The spouse's implied status as a worker expired once the application for the work permit was denied (i.e. a decision was made). They will have to wait until they receive the OWP before they can work again.

Medical was sent with the original app. Appreciate the good wishes from you but I'm not overly optimistic considering Spousal Approval has not even started as of Sept. I think I would have received such a letter by now if I was landing on Oct 17. Still hope you're right though.

Yep, that's weird. Difficult to arrive at a sum of $1115 with the options available on there now.

You don't need the last $75 there because the PA is your spouse. I think it is $150 extra per family member (children for example) of the PA. $1040 is the total amount for sponsoring just your spouse, including RPRF. If you paid $1115, there is your $75 overpay.

Yep, same letter on June 17. Oct 17 is a pretty optimistic landing date, but I am encouraged by many entries on the 2015 applicants sheet having no SA/AIP/DM and just went straight to landing. I'll keep you posted.

I don't really know. Difficult to tell just from the comments column in the spreadsheet if they got a new PCC or just submitted a copy of the old one. Saw one person on there who landed before their USA PCC even made it to CIC.

Yep, coming up on 4 months since the PCC request. I will let you know if there is any movement.

You're ok. Same information, just a different channel. You could have got them for free though.

Maria, here's the wording in the notes about the backlog reduction. Interestingly, this note was added the same day they sent the PCC request. "Application identified as part of the 2016 inventory reduction exercise for certain Spouse or Common-Law Partners in Canada applications"

Yes, obviously. You asked for someone else's notes and didn't fill in the consent form properly. If she had requested her notes herself it wouldn't have been a problem and you wouldn't need the form. That is my whole point.

You are just arguing for the sake of arguing and losing your original point. What personal info about you could they redact that your wife doesn't already know? I assume she knows your name, date of birth, etc. Anyway, I got my notes; 31 pages, nothing blacked out. If we want the sponsor notes...

Spousal Sponsorship in-land Applications 2016 timeline and updates

This is such a boring argument. If you think it is more convenient to print and sign and scan a form instead of just having your wife input her info into a few boxes in an online form, then I guess there is not much else to say except that you enjoy signing forms. I mean, I assume she would...

I don't think the wording in the notes said 'backlog' specifically. Let me check again and get back to you. I understand what you are getting at.
