Fun. I'll play. I'm still hoping for less than 1 year total for all of us in the 2016 boat. I hate this American mm/dd/yyyy date formatting though. I try to always refer to ISO 8601.

McCallum is already off to China so there is nobody to really answer for it if they don't meet their stated goals. Typical political maneuver.

Weird. This person asked the same question a week ago - when I tried to respond the canadavisa.com servers didn't like my response either so I was never able to post it. Cenker, you can apply online for a new TRV. You will use the OWP as the supporting documentation and they will issue you a...

Your husband is going to need a valid passport to land as a PR, so he needs to speak to the French embassy/consulate in Canada. A Canadian travel document is for someone like a refugee who cannot return home to get new documents or is otherwise stuck. I don't know the details of your situation...

I have left and returned multiple times while my application has been in process on while on a multiple entry TRV and have entered at YVR, YYC, YUL, and YYZ without any problems. I currently have a study permit, but the same rules apply to a visitor. At the border, one of the things CBSA is...

Agreed. Better to not clog up the Access to Information channel with useless notes. Besides, you will just be disappointed after waiting a month for a blank piece of paper.

Ouch. It's things like this that make me obsessive about scanning things to PDF for my own backup.

Whether it becomes reality or not, I'm glad that the minister gave an actual number of 12 months instead of the usual 'we are working hard to reunite families, blah blah blah' kind of announcement. 12 months is a reasonable timeframe. I assume they need to get rid of all of our applications...

There was a tornado last year. I think they only ever briefly touch down. Calgary's main weather feature is the periodic Chinook wind, which blasts warm air down the mountains, raising the temperature dramatically, even in the middle of winter. Awesome.

Yes, it is crazy out here. Last week it was sunny and warm. Calgary weather is notoriously schizophrenic and I can confirm that is true after living here for 2 years. Always sunny though and limited rain/snow. This is the coldest it has been since I have been here. I was going to reply what you...

Even that is pretty tight if they actually are going to do an LMIA. Did you already pass your exams? Try to talk to an administrator at your school and see if they will write you an official letter indicating that you are eligible to get your degree. You can use this instead of the actual...

Correct, I applied in March 2016. I was asked for another PCC in June 2016 (I submitted one with the original application).

Yes, there is certainly some bad advice and misinformation on here, but that is the nature of an open forum environment. Would be best for all of us if CIC could get moving on the applications so the mood would improve on here.

I don't think people are being political on here at all. Sorry if I/we offended you somehow. All the info and discussion on here is for the good of everyone.

You have cohabitated in the relationship for more than 2 years. You should not have a condition on your PR. The rule for conditional permanent residence is going to be repealed anyway: http://www.gazette.gc.ca/rp-pr/p1/2016/2016-10-29/html/reg1-eng.php

Yes, you can apply for an OWP with your Inland Sponsorship PR. If you go onto a visitor visa, you have to stop working until the OWP arrives. Around 4 months to get the OWP.

The spousal inland class doesn't require any work-related info as this is a family reunification type of immigration - you are immigrating solely on the relationship with your spouse. You will need a copy of the birth certificate, also get a police clearance certificate while you are still in...
