Couldn't have said it better myself CJG. Having been 1 that benefited from a fast May application, the 2nd stage wait has been horrific and I really do fear for these people who have been approved in super quick time when the problem obviously now is with the VO's. A fast 1st stage approval has...

Thread for Outland LONDON, UK Applications!

I hear ya nmford. I also am a very very unhappy camper right now. After getting an E-mail on the 27th November saying that my application will soon be approved and my COPR mailed out, I have not received it, ECAS is still in process. I am flying out next Wednesday, which certainly looks like I...

Fiance Visa, .. a better alternative

Personally I think the options available at the moment are about right. What I will say is, CIC should hold your funds in a holding account until PR or a decision is made. That would certainly give incentive to CIC to process at a much faster speed. At the moment they take the money instantly...

How Long Before PP is return after PPR

Depends on your VO. You will have to share more information for people to answer accurately.

Yes you need a Police report for every single country EXCEPT for Canada. CIC has full access to all Police records within their own country. Every other country you have lived longer than 6 months will require a police record.

You do NOT require any police checks from Canada, they can do all the background check themselves.

I hear that!! So frustrating and so slow. This part is so stressful and unbelieveable the time it is taking.

    A strain on your relationship?

I hear that. This whole process has cost thousands and it just seems to drag and drag and drag. MY wife has so many debts from going through University and well my savings have taken an epic hit whilst I am left in limbo. It is so frustrating, I just want to work and have my life back again, I...

    Spousal sponsorship

Hey and welcome, This was very popular and probably still is. I think that $10,000 is going to have accrued some serious interest in 20 years, you may well find you are liable for a bill of $50,000+. Upon re-entry in to Canada you might also find that there is a warrant for your arrest. If I...

My address changed to my wife's yesterday on ECAS. I thought I would print it out in case anything happened, lo and behold when I checked this AM my address had reverted back to my UK address. Now I am only 11 days from leaving for Canada. I am starting to get very anxious and then when I saw my...

    A strain on your relationship?

Hey Bonitanita, Yes it puts immense stress on most (obviously the longer it drags on the worse it is). I was constantly talking about how my life is completely on hold and I am in limbo and I guess it really frustrated my wife because she wanted to spend time and not have to hear how unhappy I...

Thread for Outland LONDON, UK Applications!

Oh and Sarah here is a link where it says after 6 months (You look very close to 6 months now) you can start writing E-mails and enquiring about your case. I would even write to your MP if you don't hear something in the next 2 weeks...

Thread for Outland LONDON, UK Applications!

Hey Sarah, OMG you are still waiting, that is totally ridiculous. You must be approaching 170 days since London received your file. I can see on the spreadsheet somebody who was common law (like yourself) and finished within 73 days of London receiving the file and only 113 days in total. So...

Flights to Canada - any suggestions? (UK to Whitehorse)

I don't have a clue where Whitehorse is but picking up from PMM's message I guess it is somewhere near to Calgary. Cheapest flights that go out of the U.K by some margin are Canadian Affair/ Airtransat (both the same company). Depending when you want the flight it will get more expensive by the...

    COPR- Visa exempt countries

Yes they do take away the paperwork. You are not supposed to travel out of Canada whilst your PR card is in process which I believe takes about 60 days. You can however apply for dispensation (I am not sure where to though). That said if she has a Visa exempt passport, it should not pose much...

    COPR- Visa exempt countries

Because Visa exempt countries are only exempt from Tourist Visa's. Obviously the visa's everybody is applying for here are permanent resident visa that allows you to obtain your SIN and register for healthcare.

    Love or Opportunity? Coffee Social

I certainly would not worry too much Ms Malawi. When we applied, I had no idea about immigration, zilch! I never found this forum until 1 month after we sent our app. I can tell you this though, if I had to redo my application (after the info I know now) I would have made a much much better job...

    Ecas Application Tracker

Lol Lucy, It seems to be about as much use as a chocolate teapot. I have had no updates at all from it and I went in process 11 days ago. I also have not heard of anybody recently being updated on time by the tracker. Congrats on your PR. :D

I think you should be ok. I think after 10 years you are deemed Rehabilitated. If it is a very very serious crime it can be 20 years or inadmissible if it is very very major. Given what you have said, your application should be fine. You should however disclose it of course and you should refer...
