I printed my bank statements from online banking and took them to the bank to be stamped on each page. I also procured a letter on the bank letterhead certifying balance in the savings account where my settlement funds were deposited. Additionally, I submitted incoming wire transfer advice that...

Thanks for an interesting insight, asbereth... I have not left Canada since 2010 except for couple of weeks at a time for various academic conferences. Hope this does not create additional delay. I'll know more once I get GCMS notes and will share with everyone...

Hi, Welcome to the forum! Here is my two cents on your questions: 1)Yes, it is better to provide high school diploma/transcripts. Remember, points are awarded based on the total number of years of your education. So, you need to document how many years you have spent in school, plus...

I am just wondering if others are facing this issue too. I have been calling around four different doctors offices in two different provinces. No one is even accepting new appointments for immigration check-up. They tell me that CIC has just announced some type of change to the medical exam...

SORRY!!! I was wrong quoting statistics Canada. CIC has their own definition of full time work, which is 37.5 hours per week. Hence, your reference letters should amount to the total of 37.5X52=1950 hours (equivalent to one year full time work). Apologies once again.

Hi, You must count the hours worked. You should have 30hoursX52 weeks= 1560 total hours of work performed as statistics Canada classifies work full time if you work at least 30 hours per week (see http://www.statcan.gc.ca/concepts/definitions/labour-travail-class03b-eng.htm ).

Agree - makes absolutely no sense. Yet, that is what the lawyers call "statutory limitation" - meaning that the law (in this case "Immigration and Refugee Act of Canada") has some limiting statue/wording that prevents discretionary application of the legal requirement leaving only option of...

Thanks for kind words, N_O. :) No, just the appointment letter would not be sufficient. In the operations manual (see here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/op/op06a-eng.pdf on page 31-32, Section 10.1 under "Exception" and under "Note") the CIC officers are directly...

My case is a complicated one. I am going to write a full story in case it may be useful to someone else with the similar circumstances. To answer your question right away, my bank statements only showed average of $5,000 monthly balance, whereas the amount I had to show as settlement fund is...

Hi all, I got document request on April 8th signed by FA01772. They requested proof of funds, plus 6 month statements. I got meds from "NHQ - Centralized Processing Region" (no RK, FA or GG indicated) and request for RPRF payment from GG6553 on May 10th - 8 days after I submitted the requested...

If that is what you are thinking just withdraw the original application and re-file a new one. But you cannot leave the original application pending and file another one at the same time - they won't accept it. Good luck!

Hi, I can only think of one possibility - if and when two spouses file separate applications as principal applicants including each other as dependents. This would be legitimate and will give you two shots at the same target. Other than this, I don't see how and why you would file two...
