    Possible Income Refusal???

You can't have a co-signer for a spousal sponsorship. In classes other than spousal the co-signer can only be the sponsor's spouse and since this is a spousal sponsorship, the spouse can't sponsor themselves... I will be in the same position as you. My parents are also willing to let us live...

Doubts about "Generic Application Form For Canada" !

Wouldn't it be better to put N/A in the box? I've heard from many people that they left something blank instead of putting not applicable and the package was returned to them. It would be such a waste of a couple months to only have the package returned to you! So leave it blank? or put N/A?

    Is this acceptable?

Thanks missmini and Canadianwoman. We won't mention that we plan to get married then. We'll be sure to submit all of the same information... although his job has changed... hopefully that won't make too much of a difference. I do remember though there's a spot where he has to check off his...

    Is this acceptable?

I have another question to add onto this that just occurred to me now... In the application for a multiple entry TRV, should we mention that we will be getting married in July? (as the application will be made in May). I know we don't necessarily have to put that information, but if they then...

did the processing time decrease for any embassy?

Santo Domingo went from 22 months down to 18 months. Most people seem to get their visas around the 12 month mark though. Haiti went from 11 months (I think) down to only 6 months.

    ADDITIONAL FAMILY INFORMATION QUESTION

If there are no dependents should the IMM0008DEP still be filed with a big "Not Applicable" across the top? I don't want them to think that we just forgot to include it.

    Is this acceptable?

Great! Thank you all for your input. It has really put me at ease. So even though I won't be returning to DR with him after he comes on the TRV (as at that point I will have moved back to Canada) it still shouldn't be a problem or be seen as giving false information because at the time of...

    Is this acceptable?

Sorry for the confusion. We have been together as a couple for 3.5 years. I have lived in DR (his country) for the past 2 years, however we have only just begun to actually live together in the same house, so we wouldn't be considered common law until July 2012 and we plan to get married at that...

I need some advice about Spouse Sponsorship papers

I think for the "to" part you can write in "present." So whatever day you entered Canada until present. If you're worried about something you can always put a "please see attached" and write a little paragraph explaining your situation so the VO knows everything and you don't have to worry about...

    Is this acceptable?

Hi. I have been living in Dominican Republic for the past 2 years with my boyfriend and we have been together for 3.5 years as a couple. I will be staying one more year in DR. We plan to get married sometime in July 2012, which I will then return to Canada and submit his application for...

How many years do I write?

If someone went to school for a year, but then didn't complete it, does that count as a year of schooling? For example, they were there for the year but then had more absences than were allowed for one year and therefore weren't not passed onto the next year- does that count as a year or only...

Sponsorship application package from 2009 still acceptable?

I don't know what I should fill in for that because my boyfriend has come to Canada on a visitors visa (he's from Dominican Republic) so I don't know if I should hand write in the date he last entered or what. It says after March 2012 that only new forms can be used and hand written forms won't...

Sponsorship application package from 2009 still acceptable?

If some of the information is typed and some is handwritten in, will this be a problem with the bar codes? There's a form I was filling in, and one of the questions about "when was the last date you entered Canada and where" it wasn't allowing me to type into the pdf even though everywhere else...

Why I am glad I am not in Canada yet...

I'm only here for 2 weeks, but I was in Square One in Mississauga (Greater Toronto Area) and there was a Victoria Secret. I guess right now it's only in the major urban centres but that it will expand more in the next few years.

Should expired passport be submitted as proof of entry??

The passport officer just looked at the passport, clipped the pages and then gave it back to me. I didn't have to leave anything with them. This was a renewal so as long as you're renewing it exactly the same as your previous ones it's easy. But if you're changing any info maybe it's more...

Should expired passport be submitted as proof of entry??

I just renewed my passport at the Mississauga passport office. All they did to cancel my old passport was clip the top right corner of the cover, the id page, and the page with "if lost" information. Then the stamped the last clipped page with "cancelled". Nothing was affected at all.

what will happen with an application if an embassy has to evacuate indefinetely?

Last year when there was the horrible earthquake in Haiti, they started doing visa application processesing in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, as before any visa applications for DR was done through Haiti.
