It depends on number of terms. So 3 sems divided into 6 parts doesn't actually matter. It will be counted as 3 semester and plus 1 semester of your Co-Op. So totally 4 terms you'll be serving. That should be 3yrs PGWP

Letter of explanation is like additional documents sections. In this you can add any supporting documents. SOP + any additional document that you want to include in support of your application
